my 6600 has a problem, i don't know any of you guys have encountered this before.. i am new to symbian phones..
the problem: whenever i change my message memory to memory card mode, i don't have incoming sms indicator and miss call indicator.. it is a small problem yet irritating.. i am new to this so anyone has a solution for this? thanx..

also, i note that certain themes lags the phone more.. is this true?

and anyone has webs/link for .wav files uploaded in it?

hi,

the first few problems (no indicator, missed call indicator) sound like they may be due to an old firmware release but I can't be sure. Make sure the phone has the latest version of 6600 firmware. I think Nokia are around v4.x.xx Use *#0000# on the 6600 to find the firmware version number.

Regarding the lag when yo switch to the memory card...I think you'll find the lag is due to the fact that the phone "looks" at of search the MMC first when you seletc that as you main memory source even if the ultimate target is on the phone.

I wasn't sure what you meant in your last question about .wavs...? Were you asking if anyone has loaded .wavs on to a 6600 or where you can download .wavs from...?

I have downloaded .wav files on the phone and as with most thing the acronym GIGO (Garbage In - Garbage Out) holds true. The 6600 will play .wavs it will even use them as ringtones but unless the .wav is very well made the sound tends to be a little mangled. Not the fault of the phone just be careful how you create and refine the .wavs. from a ringtone point of view I settled for midi files at least they tended to sound ok....well for midi files anyway.

As for where to get them there are several sites around. A quick google will find millions of them.

Hope that helps.

May be a corrupted file on mmc that is causing this! Back up the mmc to the phone or pc then format the mmc and see if it still does it with a blank mmc!

Themes over approx 300kbs will slow down the phone due to the amount of images in it!

As posted above .wavs can be found with ease by entering 'wav' into any search engine.
