Hey all!
I just got my X and there is certainly a lot to like about it! Nice display, great sound, features I can use, etc...
BUT, I have run into a few problems. :? Has anyone run into these?
1. When I place a call and the other end picks up, there is a loud beep in my earpiece after about 2 seconds. It interferes with the conversation. What is up with that?
2. It seems to drop signal completely. Have tried two different providers. Same two network sim cards work fine in other phones for months now.
2a. Sometimes, it doesn't pick the network back up without restarting and then acts as though a new sim has been put in. What is up with that?
3. In testing the X, I have called from another cell phone and was told the number I am trying to reach (on the X) is an unapproved phone. What is up with that?
I like the phone a lot, but I need a phone that can be a phone really well, not just a great multimedia center in my pocket. 🙄 Would love to hear some fixes, suggestions, etc. I have caught a few other posts on various sites that there have been some similar problems.
Thanks! (please make my mobile world better 😃 )

Matthia, thanks for the reply. At least I am not alone, though it still disappoints. 🙄 Have you experienced all the problems I mentioned?
Is the firmware update supposed to clear these problems up? I heard that the handsets in Netherlands were all returned because of software problems. Any relation to our situation?
I got mine from Italy, btw. Also, Sendo told me a firmware update should be available in a couple weeks.

About your problems above:
1) Me too, but I don't think that it's a bug, but anything of options, perphaps;
2, 2a, 3) With TIM (Italy Telecom) and Wind italians network operator sometime handset isn't reachable also if there is network cover and you can call anyone; it seems that with Vodafone is ok.
We italians Sendo X community are testing performance, compatibility and bugs, then will release a mail to Sendo for resolve these problems with future firmware upgrades. Meanwhile, I reply some mail to some softwarehouse for ask about Sendo X compatibility, and I'm speaking with SmartMovie author...
I'm wainting Plinkykev replies too... 😞
If Sendo X team resolve bugs and performances, we'll got best Symbian 60 handset 😊
Matthia , thanks for the info! :icon14:
Forgive my ignorance, but I have never had a phone that required firmware updates. Are the problems we are experiencing likely to be fixed by a FW update?
PlinkyKev, any input would be appreciated, too. You have an inside track. Thanks!

Hi Guys !
Right, a few problems / questions to answer then.
a) gRavY/Matthia - Network coverage issues have been reported by a couple of people, and we are looking into this. What country(s) are you in and what network(s) are you using ?
b) gRavY - Netherlands return of handsets. This is completely untrue. I have checked with our corporate manager, and this has not happened at all. Where did you hear about that ?
c) gRavY - Firmware update. As Nutzu says, the firmware update is quite easy. Connect the USB cable, run a program on the PC. Wait 20 - 30 minutes, then handset has been updated. Easy !
d) Nutzu - Glad to hear you're getting your Sendo X - hope you enjoy it !
Regards to you all,
plinkykev

PlinkyKev thank you for your input as well as giving attention to these things. I live in the country of Estonia and have experienced a complete loss of network and the phone acting as though a new sim card has been put in (re-establishes GPRS and asks to copy contacts from sim) on Tele2 network (www.tele2.ee) about 6 times over 72 hours. Also, on the EMT network (www.emt.ee) I have been unable to make or receive calls-even told that the phone is unapproved-this has happened only once.
Regarding the Netherlands, I was told this on mobile-review.com forum. If indeed this is not true, my apologies. I despise rumors and appreciate the matter being set straight.
Am I correct that no FW update has yet been released?
Thank you very much,

Hi Nutzu,
The reboot problem I have answered in your other thread (problem of restoring SX1 MMC to Sendo X)
The battery issue may be down to it not being fully charged / discharged, as per the instructions, so make sure you do that again when you get a chance. Fully discharge it (Ultra-bright screen, 5 minutes time-out, BlueTooth on - MAX it out !!), then fully charge it up again. Then it should be OK. This is a pain, but is the same for most modern batteries, in lots of devices, such as PDA's, not just mobiles. They need to be in the device being used to get an idea of the battery drain/use to calibrate correctly.
Hope this helps,
plinkykev

Hi Plinkykev, I'm happy of your return on these pages 😊
I reply soon on Network problems: there are all italians got Sendo X. I use TIM (www.tim.it - a wireless branche of Telecom Italy) and sometimes who call me find me not reachable. Sometimes network lost and it needs turn off and then turn on handset for gain again network.
A few more things... Anyone else experience these?
1. I have it on ring and vibrate for all calls. When I receive a call and answer, the ring stops immediately but it vibrates 2-3 more times into the phone call itself.
2. The call Log mysteriously keeps clearing itself entirely. Annoying little problem as I use the log to redial often.
3. This might be a network prob--haven't checked it out on another phone yet. But, I misdialed a number the other day and received a recording telling me it was incorrect. When I pushed <END> the timer for the call and the call information disappeared but the recording continued. I pressed <END> repeatedly to no avail. I had to power down to make it stop. Misdialed again as an experiment and it did the exact same thing.
Anyone else??
Thanks,

i have this problems on my X:
1)The most important is the line.... also having two or 3 bands of reception
i am unavailable(also for hours)... and i can't call anyone...
2) Since two days i can't recharge the battery when the smartphone is OFF
because the phone resets continuosly.. i am forced to charge it when is ON..
3)the camera is too slow... and the quality is poor.
4)RealOne don't play any sound when i see my smartphone's video...
i am very disappointed because i think that the line problem can't be resolved with a new firmware but with an hardware sobstitution...
Bye
Smirnoff, regarding the sound being off on RealOne playback, try adjusting the sound (< or > on the thumb pad). I think it is muted by default. Found this out playing a couple files the other day.

I dont know about the other problems, but my sendo X does not vibrate when i receive a text message. has anyone else had this problem? Am i doing something obviously wrong?
good question !
anyone knows how to activate this function ?
Dont think you can set this to vibrate on sms delivery but you can allocate a different alert tone or have the message alert tone as off then set the vibrate alert to on but that means when you receive a call it will play allocated ringtone and vibrate but when message comes it will only vibrate. Go to MENU/PROFILES/select a profile/PERSONALISE and you will see all the options
it does not appear as if it is possible to change the language for T9 predictive text once in the message screen. I write sms's in several languages and it is a real hassle to have to go to settings etc to change the t9 language. All other major phones have a short cut key to change the language but it appears as if sendo x does not. Is it i or the sendo x that is missing something? :con?
