QD died after 24 hours

Well, I got my son a QD yesterday, he could not be more excited. We gave away his N-Gage and today the QD will not turn on.

I called EB about it and they said they all have been recalled due to a problem.
😡 But that did not mind selling me one before they sent the rest back. So now my son does not have a N-Gage until replacement units get here.

:frown:

Has anybody else had problems with a QD not turning on? And Yes I know how to turn it on.

No problems here. Interesting- I work in the industry and that's the first I've heard of a recall...

Anyone else heard anything about a QD recall?

Does the screen show NOKIA during boot up and get stuck? I had this problem, after I installed UltraMp3 player. I sent it to a Nokia Care Centre, they re-installed the OS and gave the phone back to me in 2 days. Now, it works fine.

And the funny thing is, it happened to me within the 2 hrs during which i had bought my ngage qd , got home and installed ultramp3 player. Ngage QD bombed out within 2 hrs so to say..HA !

Yep...the screen shows "NOKIA"...'den it blinks and blacks out fer a while and then again it shows "NOKIA" and goes off...i tried to send a 3 MB wav file and it was showing "MEMORY FULL" and after that all this shit started happenin'...😞

Are you guys using PCSuite? If you just Bluetooth or USB a file to the NGage, it will go to the internal memory. If you use PCSuite, you can send the file to the MMC. From what I can tell from other posts like this, if you fill up the internal memory, the phone will not boot.

I have installed ALL my files on my MMC's except for FExplorer. Why?

Cons: Have to put MMC in to play Picodrive, use Opera, access music and movie files, etc

Pros: Phone's internal memory nearly empty. No boot or slowdown problems.

You can install app files to the MMC, and it works just as good as if you installed it to the phone itself.
