a920/925 key handling by symbian

im writting a program in j2me, in this app i use left and right to turn something left and right, but after about 2 seconds of holding down one of the keys, it starts making lots of those symbian click sounds(indicating you pressed a button)

and the app slows down to a halt

im not letting my j2me app process key events, instead i am poling..

im assuming that this is symbian OS handling in the background then sending on to my app...

is there anyway to stop symbian from doing this?

or any other work around

ok i figured it out, all you have to do is turn current alert mode to silent and it doesnt mess with the java app

Or even better you can just turn off the Click option for the keys in the Sounds control panel

these clicks are known to cause issues even with picodive !!!!
