Smartmovie not so smart!

12 replies · 3,523 views · Started 10 August 2004

Hey all,
Smartmovie won't work on my N6600. Whenever i open the program, i get the screen where it says the name on top, for about 1 sec, then my screen goes white for another 4-5 sec then the phone goes back to the menu!
I tried removing/installing the prog on both phone mem/ MMC with no success. I also tried several versions with no success.
I dont know if it helps, but i ran the prog successfully previously, in that it opened fine and all. But i removed it since i had no clips.
Now that i do have clips to play, the prog won't install :S

Any ideas?
thanks

damn...thats sad.

anyway i was messing with smartmovie a bit more, and i found out it ran properly when i took out my mem card but when i inserted the card, the problem would come back. i guess the problem lies within the card, but not physically as i have loads of files on it and its working 100%.

It could be a file causing the problem, but i searched and removed all traces of smartmovie of the mmc that i could find.
Is there any special location where info could be save even after uninstalling an app?

I have it installed on phone mem btw.

take care

[i tired severall....but last one was v2.00
they all reacted the same way i think it didnt have to do with the version but the app itself

I've purchased the latest version 2.43 and I'm not very satisfied with it.Well, the video quality is quite good, but the sound is not very good.It oftens crackles, interrups. It seems the CPU is overloaded.I formated my flash memory and MMC and installed the app alone. The problem persisted.I noticed that the sound interrupts when there is a significant motion in the video,so I decided that the CPU is to weak to reproduce the videovlip/movie well.I tried almost all video/sound bitrates but the problem remained. Then I tried the app on Nokia N-gage and there were no problems at all.But Nokia N-gage has 4096-color screen,so the videoclips are reproduced in 4096 colours instead of Nokia 6000's 65K colours,so the N-gage`s CPU doesn't load as much as the cpu of Nokia 6600.I'm on the 3.42 firmware.Does anyone has probs similar to mine?

Maybe SmartMovie search for movies on its startup, looks for files in your MMC and crash...

I run SmartMovie once and it found no movies to play in my phone... Strange because I have some .3gp there..

How can I link 3gp files to be opened with SmartMovie?

Try changing your phones language to english!!
That will fix your problem İ think cause i had the same Problem!!😊

my language is allready set to english (7610 ) but i have then same problem the smartmovie browser dosent see any movie files exept the two demos it installed.
i deleted them and now there is nothing .pity cos the demos looked great in landscape mode!
are there any other players that have a fastforward(search) and fullscreen option?

AAAH! RIGHT! So is there a programme to watch
realplayer files in fullscreen ? i got a whole disk full of movies in .rm format?
