so i went on the internet, freinds website all sorta things, was on for bout half an hour, i rang the credit line. "You have fifty, eight dollars, forty, cents."

Its been 2 days till i got it and i am still getting free internet.
Has optus made a mistake! LOL?
Either that, or their billing information system doesn't operate in real time. 😉

Mystic, a while back Optus had an incompatibility between the GPRS and their free live-TV service which was giving their pre-paid customers free mobile Internet (WAP) access... To their computers, it appeared that EVERYONE using the GPRS was accessing their live-TV service, which is free. Apparently this has been fixed, so you'll probably find that it's just a delay in their billing system (officially they claim it can take up to 72 hours for GPRS and MMS charges to be deducted). Then again, it wouldn't surprise me if you WERE getting free GPRS- Australia's pre-paid systems are notoriously incompatible with the GPRS! When vodafone live! was first launched in Australia, vodafone had a bug that gave its customers free GPRS, then they fixed it... Yet the "bug" came back and pre-paid customers can once again access the mobile Internet (WAP) for free (that's how I get on here)! Optus had a stuff up at one stage too, which I already detailed above... The whole free GPRS thing has been an on again/off again situation for years now, so don't expect them to charge for it in a hurry.

Hey Mystic, have you managed to get the N-Gage Arena Launcher working on your QD (with a pre-paid SIM)?
Hi
As far as I know many service providers in many countries (even in india) provide free (WEB SURFING) thru WAP ,however If u download any file thru it They charge equally. I use HUTCH (PREPAID) gprs service here They charge a flat 99 INR per month and surfing is free. No deduction in prepaid call balance.
ok well it is xhtml and wap is free.
Oh and YES! I GOT THE ARENA TO WORK! I had abit of trouble at first, anyone would think i am blonde. but i was using the wrong internet thingy, i use YesInfo Internet for email, internet and the arena now. Heh hope i get it free forever.
Who are you with for pre-paid?
lol g2g what the is on rove. cya
oh and sorry bout the username, i signed up to become a member with mysticfire and they didn't send me an email 😞

YOU can use the Internet Access Point ('yes' info Internet or whatever they call it) on a PRE-PAID Optus SIM? That's SUPPOSED to be unavailable to pre-paid customers and doesn't work from my partner's Optus pre-paid SIM! Time to call my Optus Rep (I work in a cell phone store)... Did you change any of the settings, or did you just use the default 'yes' info Wireless Internet settings? I am with vodafone pre-paid ATM Mystic.

ALL the Australian networks are SUPPOSED to charge for ANY GPRS access, regardless of whether you're downloading or just surfing (except for Telstra and Virgin who don't offer the GPRS to pre-paid customers)...
but of course that doesnt mean that virgin doesn't actually have GPRS. and free at that. 😉
Lol wow! Nup i didn't change a thing, the settings for it is:
Connection name: YesInfo Internet
Data Bearer: GPRS
Access point name: internet
User name: None
Prompt password: No
Password: **** ( i think has none)
Authentication: Normal
Homepage: http://networker.optus.net.au/wap/index.wml
Gateway IP address: 0.0.0.0
HEH! So this is pretty cool aigh!? I get free gprs! With a service that aint available to me. OMG brb gonna check if other gprs's work....
Ok Virgin and Telstra don't work. And neither does Optus Yes Info Wap. OMG I just selected Optus MMS and it is loading! Oh but then it does nothing...
So it seems that YesInfo Internet is the only one i can get into...
Oh and if it helps i live in Gladstone, Queensland
Hmm when i connect to YesInfo Internet, it takes me to optus zoo, i signed up for that.
Lol well if you want to talk to me, add to ur msn list.
And if any other nerds try and add me, ur blocked! only cyba cowpoo whatever can add me

When did you buy/activate your Optus SIM Mystic? The reason you can't get on with the others is because Virgin doesn't have a GPRS service at this stage and Telstra don't offer the GPRS to its pre-paid customers... Unfortunately I can't add you to msn- I don't have a computer yet!

vodafone has free GPRS which isn't SUPPOSED to be free at the moment... That's how I get on here!
lol your fingers must hurt, i activated it the first day i got it. 4 days ago.
Lol i think i might leave agile messenger going all day in my bag when i go to school lol.
Looks like Virgin is closer to thier gprs. My free gprs has just been canceled 😞
Now when I try to connect it says "Not part of your current active profile!"
ohh well looks like i'm switching back to vodafone. maybe optus even!
