On the P910

Dear all,

I would like to know if anyone here would consider purchasing the P910, especially if you already own or have had experience using a P900.

So would you buy a P910, if so why?

Regards,

Bateman

No, I wouldn't. For me, the P910 only seems to address one of the P900's shortcomings that actually bothers me, that of the e-mail client not being able mark as read.

There are lots of nice extra features in there, but not 500 worth of nice.

The main thing I'm looking forward to is a new release of the PC Suite. I'm hoping that, as with the release of the P900, the P910 will bring about an upgrade to the synch software and I'm praying it addresses many of the problems therein.

If this isn't the case, then I will seriously be looking at the Motorola MPx. I'm not saying I'll be buying one, but I'll have to carefully consider it. The P900 is a great phone, the best out there at the moment, but it's synch software is a huge achilles heel!

I would LOVE to get it. I use my P900 all the time for a lot of things. I'm a musician so I use a lot of MP3's and the extra memory helps. Also I travel a lot so I like to use it for emails and Internet. Oh and other feautures like quickoffice, worldmate Handy day and so forth that I have and i hate keeping on the memcard. The extra Internal memory owuld allow me to keep all I need In the phone and the extra's on 1 card rather than 2

Qwerty is also a great Plus, allthough not my number 1 priority.

That's really interesting to hear that the P910 is used by such a diverse group of people. I can see why you would choose the P910 over a PocketPC - mainly because of it's nature - part PDA, part phone, wholly useful!

Bassey I tend to align more with your opinions of the P910. If they do manage to fix a lot of bugs in the phone, and also make some minor improvements, I think the P910 would be a real upgrade. But I can't really see the justification for upgrading from a P900. It's just not enough there to warrant that.

I also have doubts about the usability of the QWERTY device though SE will probably shock everyone by making it really easy, responsive and durable to use.

Maybe with a redesigned user interface, the most inportant bug fixes, and some minor improvements an upgrade from the P900 can be justified.
