More Powerful Battery?

Have searched but found nothing, can you buy a more powerful battery for the N-Gage original?
Im disapointed with the short battery life, It says 8 hours of MP3 play and 3-6 hours of gameplay, and I know the phone just being on takes up power, but I've had no way near 8 hours of MP3 Playback, the power runs out after 2 days without me hardly using it.....

So, Can you get a battery that lasts longer?

The reason you don't' get 8 hrs playback is because your phone is usually not only playing mp3's over that two day period but is always on to receive calls. I've tested the mp3 player after a full charge and let it run for 4hrs non stop playing mp3's, didn't loose one battery bar. I then got bored of waiting for it to die, so the test was never completed.

I usually get about 2 days use out of it though.

Although I haven't tested it, from general use I've found the battery on my (original) N-Gage to be absolutely terrible... Fortunately, the battery on my N-Gage QD is much better- I'd almost go to the extent of saying it's BETTER than what Nokia claim!

Last night my phone had almost full battery, (full except for one bar) and I switched it off when I went to sleep.

In the morning, I switched it on, and the battery had only 2 bars.... this is stupid, the battery shouldnt run out almost all the way when the phone is off.....
Is this normal?

Don't necessarily pay attention to the bars... usually I'll use it for two days with all the bars at full. The next day, it'll drop all the way down to two or three bars, and even with 1 bar left I can usually get another two days out of it.

It's a little odd that the power would drop when the phone was off, but the level indicator isn't always accurate.

Just like most other things, It takes more power to turn on and load everything than it does to just run it.

...that's because the thing measures power from the battery's output voltage - and that's not an all too accurate method. For example, physics classes teach you that cooling a battery lowers it's output voltage. So, spend some 30min outside in the winter here in Finland - ta-da! you got yourself a spanking great one bar, though you just recharged the last night...

can i just simply buy the other model of nokia battery such as BL-6C or others battery model that fit with my ngage and use it??? can i? can i? plz... i fadeup charging my ngage every day... 😃

My QD's battery seemed a bit too small when I got it, but one day at school I booted my phone (had full bars) and it had only three bars. I played with the phone for one or two days and after that it was kinda empty so I recharged it.

So the bottom line is: the half full battery (if the phone didn't fool me when there were only three bars left) worked as long as a full battery.

Might it be that the battery woke up? Or was it just the mixture of cold and a start up (but that means that I only think it worked as long as a full battery)?

I have to say, the battery life is good because you really need power to run a graphical OS and all that stuff that run. I hope the battery doesn't literally die like Nokia batteries normally do *sigh*.
