Can't connect to my PC

Hi guys,
well, I've just whipped out my shiny new A925.
I've installed Desktop suite, attached the USB cable at both ends, made sure that the phone has "USB" selected under "Desktop Suite" control panel. When the phone is plugged into the USB port, windows (XP Home) detects it as an A920/USB modem and I allow it to install software automatically. I then made sure that the mrouter had USB selected, opened Desktop suite, clicked "Ok" when it told me that I needed to have the phone connected, opened desktop suite on the phone and clicked "connect". Unfortunatly, however, instead of connecting, it just times out.

I've also tried connecting on a different computer (using above procedure) as well as trying to use the IR port.

Please tell me i'm doing something wrong!

Paul

Hello: I have installed the Desktop software and followed intructions just as Paul-G has outlined. But, still no connection. I have tried severally but it keeps timing out.

ANYBODY PLEASE HELP!!!

It's really getting me frustrated and I KNOW I have done the right thing as per instructions.

Will appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks.

OK,

how did you do it, mate? I am becoming pretty desperate.

t.

We're all having the same problems it seems. I wish Paul would have said how he solved his problem. Anyone want to make themselves my hero?

yeah, i'm having exactly the same problem, more or less, after trauling the net it seems alot of people are havin the same problem, im using win2000, hope its not that as i really dont want to change opsys just for this but really have to get this usb working

I just bought a Moto A920, I followed the instructions in the manual, it says we have to activate the suite in both (PC & Mobile). I did the same. The PC cant detect my phone, I also tried the IrDa. The IrDa port can detect all other phones, it's working properly, but when I place the phone( Moto A920), it doesn't detect it. Other phones have the option to ON & OFF the IrDa. But this phone dont have. I tried by connecting with the Desktop Suite. No response. The main problem is the PC cannot detect the Mobile connected. Some one help me in this. What would be the problem? How to activate IrDa in the phone? I'm really frustrated since i cant connect it, I tried in different machines, nothing can be done. Pls help me in this.. Thanks!

I have tried everything in this thread and i have serched on the Internet but still the same, I cant connect with my usb as the other people above.

Is there any other program that I can use to syncronice?

Please - this problem seems to be frekvent - is there any solution to it?

hi everyone,

same problem here - I guess it has to do with COMs and a suspicious driver that is installed called "usbser"? Because apparently the computer system contol offers only 2 COMs (in my case) but the Motorola A925 seems to be connected to COM3 or COM4 (??).

It took Paul G about 19 hours to figure out the solution (which he declined to tell us though ...) - that sets the record apparently!

Hello,

funny as it may seem, my connection miracously worked the next day, without having changed any settings. And it's not the fact that the PC was rebooted, I did that during my unsuccessful tries. But I have seen comments of people saying their connection works sometimes, then again doesn't some other time ... I still would be interested in what's going on there.

regards,

Here is maybe a solution.

1: open properties in mRouter, disconnect your usb cable
2: conncet your phone
3: start desktop suite on your phone.
4: open properties in mRouter, connect usb cable
5: open Desktop Suite on you pc.
Then your phone, connects to your pc.

Sorry for my bad english, i hope it will solve your problems

I have experienced exacly the same problem and after 6 hours of F***ing around with the software and the phone I have tied it down to a Faulty SD Memory card that came bundled with the phone.

As soon as I removed the card the Mrouter software would connect to my phone. If I reinsert the chip the the Mrouter will not connect.

Strange Behaviour I know but it worked for me.
