Does this have a lens cover?

Sure, I know this thing 'doesn't exist' yet, but does anyone know if the spec suggests it does or doesn't have a lens cover? I hate the idea of an unprotected lens like the SE P800!

You;re right, it doesn't exist, but my friends brothers second aunt has the definitive answer, and it DOES have a lens cover.

and thus lies the problem of asking questions about products at least 6 months from the market.

The people who browse here either (a) wont' have any concrete answere re teh3650 beyond the press release, or (b) will be under an NDA and can;t discuss it.

Although I'm sure 'Guest' will offer true proof that it comes with this or that (and a tripod to take stable photos) in a few days.
I guess that translates to: buy a 7650 now. Don't worry 'bout later.
If you'd like to have a Nokia camera phone, you are definitely better off by buying a 7650 now, despite all the rumours about maybe new phones and recent press releases... 😉
And then it is a Nokia phone, so maybe add one quarter to the announced release date and it might be right! 😃

If you like BIG you buy a 3650, if you are SMART you buy a 7650

SO the anonymous advice is to wait and get a phone in 8 months because it's bigger? No, you buy the 7650 if it is what you need now. ALthough I have to say things like the external storage on MMC in the 3650 and not the 7650 is a bit funny and needs correcting.

3650 is too big and clumsy. Looks a bit plastic. But it has external memory (MMC). Is what we call "teinix", that is teenager's first choice, in Finland. :P

7650 looks slightly better, but has too little memory capacity and lousy camera.

So I guess my choice would be SE800.

Sorry...what was the question again? 😉

Considering my network (02) doesn't even have a photomessaging service yet, there isn't any rush 😊 It will have one by the end of the year though. Hopefully 7650 prices will come down a bit more by then, and I'll get a good deal when I sign up for a new 02 monthly contract.

What I like about the lense cover on the 7650 is not the fact that it protects the lense, or the keyboard, but that I can answer calls in the gym changing room without people thinking I'm a pervie gett trying to snap pictures of their willies!

Moro Veppis!.. Nice to see you here too 😉

The 3650 doesnt have a lens cover, but the lens is ever so slightly recessed so it wont get scratched just by leaving on a desk (dont think it would cope well being in a pocket with some key/coins - if you have pockets that big!). I notice the 6650 *does* have a lens cover though.

Oh, and the 3650 *does* exist - developers have had prototypes for at least a couple of months.

What I know, it's called "Expression". Funny thing is that people used to call phones with limited features as "Teinix" phones. I don't think this phone lacks features that much, so it can't be that. What is the definition for the "teinix" phone nowadays, since it doesn't seem to be the lack of features? Just curious...

To me definition of teinix is quite flexible, but it might include for example limited features, exchangeable covers, price class and target segment.

Phone has to be quite cheap, so teenagers (or their parents) can afford it. And resellers market furiously cheap phones to teenagers near holidays and beginning/ending of school plus subsidize price below wholesale prices.

For example if you compare 7650 and 3650, the latter is doomed to be teinix. It's cheaper, bigger, more bulky...and the design...well you decide yourself.

3650 is cheaper, but it's definitely not cheap (about 500 eur). So basicly according to your definition 7210 might be a "teinix". It's cheaper than 7650, desing, changable covers, it's bigger in the matter of size, but not weight, but it's bulky though... What I think, it's just the model number. If it had been e.g. 7xxx, this thing might be different.

Sorry about going off topic.

I think the price of 3650 will drop quite fast...then it's not anymore expensive. I'm talking about street prices, not retail prices. (Nokia puts ridiculously high recommended prices to teinix phones...but they never hold very long.)

And you're right about 7210, (and 8310 by the way) it's sort of teinix phone. Nokia justifies high price (yes, I think it's high 'cos there isn't BT or voice commands) with these phones saying they are design phones. Well changeable covers are perhaps designed well, but phones are something like soap boxes. What I'm trying to say is that Nokia's marketing division has made a terrific job! 😉

And the model number...yes 3xxx is associated to teinix phones. If Nokia would have intended it to be something else than low end phone...well it migh have been "named" something else.

However! Teinix phone can be good phone. There nothing wrong to buy a cheap phone if that's what you want and you're happy. It's just that Nokia's 33xx series is quite notorious...

Hmm...we'd better end this right here...or continue somewhere else.
