I've had a few mobiles over the time, such as Sony ericsson t610 and so on. The things iv'e noticed is that when i strip the design and take away all the "heavy" grapics, the phones OS becomes a lot faster.
But, now that i have got me an 7610, the same problem accured. The OS is so damn slow. I downloaded the The Series 60 Theme studio from the nokia site ( Most shitty Theme editor ever ) and tried to create a theme without grapics such as backgrounds by exchanging pictures with a plain background and so on.
My problem is this: the god damn Series 60 Theme studio does not save my changes to the sis file. Does anyone know where i can download a stripped Theme wich makes the OS go faster ? :con?

Just set the "classic" - theme as your current. That might help increase flexibillity and fastness!!!!!!
Yep the classic theme is everything stripped down to a bare minimum (and I think it looks quite nice too).
Im currently using the classic theme, and it pisses me off. I can assure you that this theme is not stripped down to the bare minimum. 😮
I just use the "Theme 1" with the original Rose wallpaper. Simple

i find the phone fast enough...even with the downloaded themes already on...thing to do is... if you have filexplorer (freeware, and a fantastic app) is to go through your folders on your mmc...and c: drive... and clear some crap out...eg. some apps you have..that you may have removed, can sometimes leave files behind, even though you have removed the app itself...also, pictures you have removed from you phone can still be found on your phone...so, its just a case of having a good clear up...though dont touch anything from z: as this is where your phones os is....
How does clearing up memory space help make the phone faster?
And btw, Z is Read-Only. Even if you tried deleting a file, it won't let you
My 7610 is also damn slow at times. For everyday use I think the edited Basic theme is good and fast enough. Get rid of applications that are useless and you feel you don't want them.
Nokia 7610 can use Nokia 6600 themes. You can download free themes for 6600 at www.theunlocker.co.uk or try using search engine. If its zipped just unzip it, find the .sis files and then send it to your phone or try install it using the PC Suite. Zazaam.
