Bluetooth and sp2.

I recently upgraded xp to sp2. It broke my widcomm bluetooth installation and I can't get it working again (reinstall ad nauseam). Previously it was extremely flakey but I could get it to work with PC Suite eventually.

Using the sp2 bluetooth drivers I can see my phone and send files to it. I have configured it to set up a serial port. With the widcomm software the flakiness was in connecting my phone and pc reliably - the XP SP2 bt software does this very reliably - the problem is though that I cannot get PC Suite working.

I an send files individually to my phne but this is a real pain, and what's more I cannot seem to find the forwarded files (which are recieved as messsages using fe exploere - as a reuslt they clog up the phone memory - I can't move them to the MMC card which has much more space.

I configure a serial connection to use com ports 4 and 5 but if I try to select them in mrouter it claims they are already open and will not use them. If I right click mrouter and ask it to connect to bluetooth devices it complains about a socket error.

Has anyone got PC Suite to work with the SP2 bt software, or if not can you tell me how I can export recieved files to the memory card?

Cheers,
Ed

I had a problem when I first tried PC Suite with the SP2 Bluetooth. It started working when I disabled the "show an alert when a device attempts to connect" (something like that anyway, i don't have a machine with it on at the moment) on the advanced propertied page.

The biggest issue I have is that they removed the disconnect button.
Once connected to mrouter the only way to disconnect is to disable bluetooth on the phone.

I still get the unable to open com port message when I try to check it in mrouter.

COuld someone who has got it workign please go over step by step and maybe they are doign something different. 😊

I know the feature list is shorter but it loses nothing I used and it connects much more stably than the widcomm software - the only problem is I can't get it to talk to PC Suite.

hi kurgan, i have winxpprosp2 installed on my box and everything works like a charm with nokia pc suite. im using linksys bluetooth adapter. kurgan, let me know what step by step you need.

i got a msi + sp2 final, and it give me a hard time to connect to phone and pc, sending file to computer with no problem, but to phone is very complicated, OBEX is not installed, how can i install that??? i'm now connecting mga 7610 thru usb cable, but 3660 and 7650 cant connect to sync with the datasuite, how i can connect it???

I menaged to make widcomm drivers to work with my no-name BT dongle, but wasn't satisfied as each time i wanted to make the connection IE hang, and desktop was instantly restarted (still, the connection was made). I tried IBM drivers, no desktop restart here, but after starting the conenction through the BT icon it freezes, and i could reconnect only through My BT Places or so. Still, was able to make PCSuite work. Now i tried using the native SP2 drivers, and i have an issue 😊 how to initialize the connection :/ the outgoing and incoming ports are listed, configured to use COM 6 & 7 (as before), but I can't find a "connect using serial port" option anyware :/
