MMC Question?

Hey, i just picked up my n gage for AUS$130 a couple of days ago, i just thought i would share that. Anyway i want to buy a mmc card and i would just be using it for transfering pictures, ringtones etc to my phone. I just wanted to clarify whether it was possible to send pictures, ringtones etc to my phone without bluetooth. It is to my understanding i need a USB and MMC to transfer things rather than bluetooth, true?

Besides using Bluetooth, if it is is an N-Gage "classic" instead of an N-Gage QD, then you can use the supplied USB cable to access the MMC while it is in the phone as a drive from Windows.

You can read/write anything to the MMC that way from your PC.

You can also get a PC-based card reader, if you wish (put the MMC in the card reader to read/write to it on your PC, and then remove it from the reader and put it back in the phone).

Where did you get it for AUS $130?

This Hi-Fi shop in my town had a friday the 13th sale and it was 50% off, so it was originally $500 down to $250, then they said we could have it for $16 because the new model will be coming in, and i haggled the down to $130 - cool hey.

I am a friend of MKInitials and I also picked up one for $135. We snagged the last 3 (MKI, My brother -for$120- and myself). It is no doubt an impressive piece of machinery, and for that price cannot be overlooked. Does anybody know about RealMedia files? I attempted to upload to the N-Gage a 720kb video with the .rm extension but the device claimed it was too large. Is this too large resolution-wise or file size-wise?

MMC = MultiMediaCard = the memory card type used by Nokia phones like the N-Gage, 3650, 6600, etc.

There's also a smaller type called RS-MMC where RS = Reduced Size used in, e.g., the 7610.
