Hi guys,
I have Nokia 6600 with 256MB MMC card. I noticed its getting slow when ever I want to move from option to other, means if I want to brows my inbox and get back to draft or sent msgs for example, then I have to wait for a while before it takes me to the propose option. Any body get a clue about the reason of that please ?
Thanks for reading.

yea i know one thing that works. go to your main menu the go to "log" then options then settings and change your log duration for 1 day. it helped mine a bit and try not 2 save alot of stuff on your phone memory.

Thanks V3nom for the prompt. Would that means using high capacity of memory would impact slow in operation of the device ? Some case you need to save your log little bit more than 4 days for business references which hard to live with one day log. Any how I will try that and will see. Thanks again and god bless.

:icon13: That would be silly 256 is double 128 :icon14:

delete some programs that u add it in your phone this will help up ur phone

Make sure that your Phone Memory is at 4mb minimum level always. I'm currently using a 512MB and the response degredation is negligible considering the sooooo many applications I have in my MMC. Just make sure that day-to-day messages, etc. are loaded in your MMC and not in your phone memory. Regular housekeeping indeed helps --- deleting outdated messages, etc.

Hi Guys,
Well, thanx for all input's you provided. I have made some of your hints, hmmm noticed some progressing in that.
The most effective action was when I deleted un necessary SMS inbox msgs and log record re- organized. I would live with this practice till some body bring me new experiance in bringing the speed as standard.
Thanks again and good luck.

Hey guys. This problem is a common one out of the box for many s60 phones. The Symbian OS needs plenty of <root level> memory (phone memory not mmc) to keep it quick. As standard the 6600 uses the phones memory over the mmc card for almost everything. All the above suggestions help.. Without formatting the phone every now an then - a simple fix is to goto Messaging > Options > Settings > Other. Then change the 'Memory in use' option to Memory Card. Messaging is the main cause of memory hogging. Try and install or run most apps from the memory card & use small themes.
