Excel and Word documents trying to read them on the 7650

Webviewer is supposed to read .doc files but it did not work, so after contacting the webviewer people i was told that .doc files can only be read from a webcite eg. http://www.xxx/.xx.doc but not from 7650 file directory like c:/xx.doc which i think is a real shame.

Can Webviewer access the 7650 files? I think that this is impossible becasue afterall it is a midlet, thats why they can only read docs from the web!

BTW, do you need to config proxy setting in Webviewer? Suppose your ISP need to have proxy, how you go about?
:-?

No wonder i can't connect it to the net!!! :x My guess must be the proxy stuff. I tot it is my phone. Now i know the problem lies not the phone but the appl!!! :x :x

Nope i did not bought it. :x But i still think the developer is very stupid. Never think of some countries' ISP need proxy setting in order to surf around.

:x :x :x :x

I think that every country has ISP where you need proxys.

I would not call them stupid, but then again....why not! 😊

The first time I tried have some difficulties. But later somewhere in the forum here I found out that the ip address set to 0.0.0.0 works.Just need to set your dial-up access no to your ISP.So far only able to view...not editing...That's why it's called viewer? 😊 Never tried looking at .doc yet...will keep u guys posted if success... cheers!

What i don't understand i how come no word or excel reader or editor is not available yet, i would have thought it was very important.

Yeah I quite agree that there should be a word processor or a spreadsheet! Dont mind it being not Word or Excel, but something similar thought!

I think a Word/excel viewer could be useful, But having an editor would be pointless, can you imagine writing a word document using the 7650's keypad 😃
