Problems Synching my 6600

I've got a problem with synching my contacts with my PC. Whenever I try to synchronise I the software seems unable to open the contacts on my phone. On the SynchLog I get the following text 'Device contacts problem (unspecified error)
There was an error opening device my 6600

Synchronisation completed.
0 entries have been updated.'

However, there seems to be no problems in synching my calendar. Does anyone have any ideas as to what's going on? I'm running Windows XP, Office XP (I'm trying to sync with Outlook XP) and the latest version of the PC suite software from the Nokia website. My phone's firmware version is 4.09. If it's not going to be possible to get this fixed is there any other software out there that will let me sync the phone with Outlook?

Try recreating/reconfiguring the contacts synch settings from scratch in PC Suite (I've now only the new PC Suite 6 for newer phones on my PC, where it is done differently, so I can't easily look up the exact steps as I don't remember them well enough any longer).

Thanks for the suggestion. I deleted all of the info about contacts synchronisation and started again from scratch but I'm still getting the same error message. Do you have any more ideas? Could it be something to do with how the phone is storing the contacts? It seems that the PC Suite software is having problems opening the contacts on the phone.

I have the same problem. after reinstalling WinXP SP2 and Office 2003 (the same config have worked perfectly before).
Have looked around i several forums and it seems to be a rare problem not many posts and no answers.

the things I have tried (none worked) are these:

  • Uninstall -> reinstall PC Suire 1.1.0 for 6600.

  • Reinstall Office

  • Backed up my phone and did the *#7370# "blow all reset" and restored in case it was som corrupt file on the phone

But none of the above have worked for me...
