How sturdy is the 7650?

I ventured into the pub on a sat night with my phone, I got some damn funny photos of my mates making tits of themselves but i (and my friends) also managed to drop it about 10 times over the night (the hand-eye coordination went after about pint 8 (it was buy one get one free night 😊)) But anyway, despite a good few drops from 50cms to 1.5meters onto various surfaces (mostly wooden floors) my 7650 is still working fine!
So I was wondering, has anyone actaully managed to break a 7650 by dropping it yet?

What kind of height did you drop it from to break it?

The first thing I did when I opened my box was drop the 7650 about 30cms onto a kitchen worktop. Damned silly box! Great start for the new phone...

Most Nokia's I've owned have seemed quite resiliant. My two 7110's (one stolen and the others got a broken areial socket) were probably the sturdiest phones I've ever owned.

Weakest was a t28. The phone body itself was fine, but I've discovered the flip front breaks if you drop it off a balcony in a club...

If you give the 7650 a good squeeze it seems nice and solid. Those pictures that 'Millennium' (what happened to him and his memory expansion idea?) posted of a 7650 in pieces gave a good insight to the phones' internal construction. Very typically 'Nokia'. I reckon these'll be able to stand a right battering 😊

My phone worked fine! Just without a screen! I could make calls etc but could not see anything! It fell from my hands down and landed with the screen side almost flat! It was on the street and i guess I was VERY unlucky! It fell a few times before but did not even make a scratch!! 😞
Anyways, Hope that it will not be very expensive!

Yeah these phones dont react well when your out drinkinhg you have to weigh up weather you want funny pics, and impress ppl with the phone
or keep the phone for a while longer

I myself, dont react well to bullets, and knives,. so I guess everything has something it doesnt react well with.

The good thing is that my girlfriend has the same phone like me so I could still takes some pics and videos on Godskitchen! But I am never going to do that again! I was more concerned about the phone than the event! However, I saw alot of ppl with 7650s there!

phew ... I've dropped my phone just now from 1st floor of my house balcony .... lucky for me it fell on the grass .... My 7650 survived!!!

😃

But pity MaleBuffy ...... by the way how much is the screen/LCD replacement cost? :P

i was going to on a local highway at 7am at about 70 kph on my bike .. the phone was in my shirt pocket.. i hit a bump and the fone flew out tumbled on the bike and fell off out on the road...it was in so much momentum ...that for about 20 seconds after that it kept going ahead on the road on its own along with the bike in parallel .. i was braking, slowing myself down.. the fone was scraping against the floor at the same speed and i could do nothing but slow the bike down and cruise along at the same speed of the phone .. finally it slowed and stopped.. and so did i ..picked it up .. the back body wass fully scratched, all the edges and corners of the phone were bruised, the front portion silver color had come off to reveal the transparent plastic underneath and it looks like shiiiiiiiiiiiit the phone looks like it just came from war :'( however luckily the display was unscathed with just a few light scratches which had been there before my stunt .. and the phone works fine no problems with anything like the camera or the speaker or whatever...

this was two days ago .. im looking for a new cover but its difficult to find one here in India. The cheapest rates i could get were .. about $26 for just the front panel and $75 for a full new body .. these came in a bootleg packing but the finish was so perfect that its impossible to believe they are non-Nokia. In fact I'm sure they are originals.. they said they were taken from spare phones so they dont come with original packing .. whatever that means .. anyway i'm just going to hold on for about a month longer and then get the $75 cover .. i can get it fixed by a local dealer for a nominal fee...check out the attachment .its a nice adriatic blue shell! he says its of the european edition ...

A brand new NSC just set up shop a few steps away from my place ... i went and asked the girl out there for a new cover and she said it will cost me about $14 for the front panel, about $5 for the back and about $3 labor so thats a little under $24 we're talking for an official original new body .. but it will take about a week for them to receive the stuff ... ive been thinking of only one thing since i got back: she was so pretty...
