6600 GPRS Problem

Having spent the last 2 days trying every different Vodafone GPRS setting I could think of, I've finally got email and the internet working on my 6600. It turns out that part of the problem is that when I connect to GPRS once, to get email, internet, MMS or WAP, the phone will not then connect again without being turned off and then turned on again - the 'G' symbol with the box round it just flashes until it times out. As you can imagine this is a bit of a pain in the backside! Does anybody have any idea how I can solve this issue - I'm thinking that a firmware upgrade is probably going to be the way forward.

I have exactly the same problem on O2. I can send a picture message once, browse the internet etc once and then I have to reset the phone or I just get the flashing G and then a timeout. Really really anoying!

Most service provider have a problem about gprs usernames, if "wap" exists as your username your connection is limited to wap sites only.

If you want to use htm browsers (opera, netfronts etc.) or email clients using gprs connection, u need to add a new gprs account.

In this page u will find the settings for the new account;
http://www.access-sys-eu.com/GPRS_Settings.95.0.html

Find your isp in that list and add an account as it orders. Than use the new account for all programs that need internet connection. Problem solved.
