Hey whats up, a co-worker received the caribe virus thru bluetooth by accident while he was texting. He owns a Nokia 6600 and what it did was caused his blue tooth to stay on all the time even while the phone was off and it also drained his battery really quick. Hope this helps, its currently going around here in the philippines!

Am from the philippines too but had not encountered it yet. A documentary on GMA 7 treats it like its a doomsday virus yet what it does really doesnt damage the phone, its a worm, sends itself to open bluetooth connections and propagates by such. Turning off your bluetooth when not needed or not installing the *.sis file is also a preventive measure.

For me the first virus is the trojan from the Mosquito game, costs you money since it sends out SMS at premium rates during game play.
Heres the link for the fix for Caribe http://www.handango.com/brainstore/PlatformProductDetail.jsp?siteId=308&catalog=0&sectionId=0&productType=2&platformId=4&productId=124282

Well what I think you should do/should have done is to delete the files mentioned in the SARC website, for from what ive heard the caribe removal utility only removes those files as well. 😃

Please wha tlock code did you sue? my phone nokia3650 is asking for lock code which i don't know

The default lock code (also stated in the phone's User's Guide) is 12345.

If you have - or someone else has - changed it, and forgotten it, then only a Nokia service center can fix the situation.

uh, mine's 3650. i already have deleted the program, but "caribe" still appears whenever i turn my fone on. yea, batteries runs dry really fast (silly virus).

i also tried reseting it to its original settings, but its still there *sob*
BTW, why press the "pencil" button while restarting? what is it for?

...haven't tried installing file manager, though.

*a little help, please!

Thats called booting in safe mode where as upon the boot process minimal applications are included, most third party apps are limited in this kind of bootup.

i think u can only view those files by installing a file manager or something like it.
when u have it installed, u can see that there's still caribe files left on ur fone.

try installing a file manager or file explorer~it'll help u a lot^^

*BTW, check out symantecs website to see what files to remove.
