I just got my new 7610 yesterday - VERY pleased with it.
However, can someone recommend which application I need to use to manage my phone contacts form my PC. I have transferred them from my old 6600 successfully, but I want to be able to manage them from a PC interface. It's just quicker to copy/paste numbers into correct category (home/mobile/work etc..)
Thank you very much in advance for your replies.
MS Outlook for editing + Nokia PC Suite for synchronization: http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite
Lotus Notes/Organizer + Nokia PC Suite for synchronization.
Contacts Editor in Nokia PC Suite.
Remote S60 from the shop: http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/shop/
Notepad (or your favourite text editor) for editing + SmartVCard from the shop.
Can MS Outlook UPLOAD back to the phone once the contacts have been edited ?
That's what PC Suite's synchronization handles.
Can I stop it uploading my eamil addresses though? (this just fills up my phonebook)
Do you have so many contacts & email addresses that it really matters?
Besides, you can send MMS to email addresses (with most, if not all, GSM operators), and you can also configure the email settings in order to send email from the Messaging app. In those cases having the email addresses in Contacts is useful.
Anyway, in PC Suite you can choose "All Details" or "Name and Mobile Number" or "Name and All Numbers" for contacts synchronization. I haven't tried it myself, but I suppose "All Details" is the only option that will synchronize the email addresses.

Agreed, the Nokia suite manages your phone contacts.
What I'd like is a PC based text editor - the Nokia one does not support the Symbian OS which is rubbish. Can anyone recommend a PC-based txt editor for the 7610 please?
