Horizontal Lines on Camera

Haven't seen such on my 7610.

It's good you dont have it, as I've checked with other 7610 users that I know they also have similar horizantal bar lines, even the service unit of the telecom company. I wonder if its a batch production problem :con?

I don't have these lines either. What is your firmware version?

i am having the same prob
when i come in bright white light the lines comes just like as in from of t v screen

My Unit is China Made, v 4.0421.4 --- same as yours. I have compared it with another 7610 ( i failed to check the firmware) and first thing I noticed is that the color of the keypad LED is a bit darker (mine is lighter) and he does not have the horizontal lines problem.

The telecom company also finally agreed to replace my unit (though still out of stock), hopefully I will have a better unit (as most of the indoor pictures I took have the horizontal lines) :con?

Ouch! could it be that Nokia sent to Asia units which such kind of problem? I hope they will have a fix for this.

Guys - do you only get this problem in areas which have flouresent lighting - like in a kitchen or office? What about outdoors, does the problem then go away?

Just thinking it could be the bandwidth of the flouresent tube lighting you are seeing...

Got that prob too, but it only appers ehen I use totally white backgrounds

Yes, normally under flourescent lighting and with white backgrounds. You maybe correct but its quite disconcerting when you take pictures inside the office! Compared it with a Panasonic GD87, the panasonic will only have it for a few seconds (as if it recalibrates) and the lines will be gone.

Yeah - Im just thinking, if thats the case then it's probably a software glitch where the cam is failing to recalibrate to take into account 50 & 60 Hz lighting.

So a firmware flash may fix it..

I have no such problems and adapts to most lighting conditions after a few seconds - later version:

That could be it! In that case, I might as well have my phone upgraded or replaced with a newer firmware version.

this is simple... this is due to the flouroscent light blub in the room. Take a shot under tungstent light bulb & tell me the result!
