does anyone of you tried to get an old sms message from other series 60 device then move to 7610 with almost a 1000 msg???
because i have a problem with my N7610, sometimes when i got an incoming message, i got a 1 new message alert and when i click read, it hangs! it can't get into the new message, even in the messaging, it just freeze there but i can go back to the phone. how can i fix this problem???
ok... try deleting some of the messages in your inbox...i assume your phone is using the actual phone memory, and because you have so many messages in your inbox, it maybe that the phone is or has reached its capacity for storing sms in its inbox...also, you can change the memory to memory card by clicking on messaging and then go into options, then down to settings, and scroll down to "other". click on that, and then down to "memory in use" and change it to "memory card"... that should do it... hope ive helped... 😃

thanks! but it is recommend that i use the phone memory rather than rs-mmc memory ryt???
that happens with my unit also... you have to delete some messages to prevent frequent hang ups on your unit... i dont know why it happens but just to be more careful lets adjust to our phones new bugs!!! 😊
hehehe hope this will resolve to next firmware upgrade
ine also hangs sometimes when trying to look at a new message. but i am running the sms from the mem card (256). Hope a new firmware version is out soon!!!!
There is really a lot of problems of SMS coming into your 7610. I hope the new firmware could come out as soon as possible.
Incoming SMS has hanged my phone, has crashed with the PowerLock program, has crashed with the Full Screen Caller at some unpredicted times, in my 2 months experience with 7610.
I hae the same problem. Sometimes when receiving SMS appeares an Error message "App.closed Ncnlist!" and no rington hered but SMS is saved in Inbox.
well... this proved that it is a bug, whether your using phone or rs-mmc memory, the phones hang... can't wait till the next firmware to be release, and how about the year on birthday calendar, it cant accept lower than 1980 when synchronizing
I have the latest firmware - 4.0437 dt 15 Sep 04. I felt all was working fine on SMS front, including MMS, but yesterday I sent a message to someone. Is ok. But I happened to see the total log and it shows 1 SMS incoming from that person, but NOTHING in Inbox!!! How? I tested, 2 3 sms, all coming in fine. But why not this one? How to see/check?
Is there anything I can do? If I go to Nokia, they may say received but you deleted so not there.
This Thing I Notice in My 7650 My frds send me the messgaes and i didn't recived that and when i saw the log it was in the incoming messages. But in my 7610 i haven't notice. Is there any way to get those sms.
But this has happened only once so far. Need to check if it occurs again... Will check detailed log for next week or so to see if one off glitch. The incoming was within 50 seconds of outgoing (which was to out of town no.) so maybe just something from msg. centre? Receive and reply may not be likely so fast. Also I have 2 Messaging centre defined, one with SMS Centre with No. 98210xxxxx and other SIM Msg. Centre (correct one) as 98200xxxxx. Is it safe to delete other centre? Maybe that is causing problem? I have deleted it, should not be problem since only thing there is centre tel. no. and can easily be re-created.
