I just purchased a Nokia 6600 phone from t-mobile. So far it is a great replacement for my Palm. I am having a few problems though:
Some apps don't install. I purchased the some of the handy apps and Opera browser and all they do when I try to install is the phone flashes install on the screen for a couple seconds and then goes back to the messages window. The message then shows a blue dot (meaning I haven't opened it yet). The apps are never installed. Most app I have tried installed great, but a few handful (the ones i really want to try) don't seem to be installing. I've searched around in various forum and nobody seems to have a ny problems like this.
Please help!
Thanks!
Dan

Care to identify the files that wont install? Like prog name, version so that we know if it really works with the 6600 and not specific to Symbian 1.2 series?
These are some of the apps I am having a problem installing:
Opera Browser
3dmotoracer_n_s60_en_demo.sis
HandyDay.sis
HandyBook.sis
HandyCar.sis
HandyDates.sis
HandyExpense.sis
HandyFile.sis
HandyShopper.sis
mobipaqlist_1_12.sis
Here is a list of apps I have had success with:
Splashphoto
easylock
Dreamscribe
Salling Clicker
mobipaqswatch_1_3.sis
Pocketcounter
Weather
So I am not sure why some apps install fine and some don't? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Sometimes programs conflict with other programs, Id do a full format if I were u just to make sure. I had problems with some programs too but not as like you mentioned. They install but they get system errors, to think that they're just trial versions. If you bought these programs, you have the right to demand support from their programmers.
If I do a full format, does it remember all my settings? Does it put it back to like i just walked out of the store? After a fulll format, is the phone useable? I know I would lose all the extra programs and address, book, etc. I'll be glad to try a full format, I just want to make sure I don't have to take it in to tmobile so they can put all my setting in it again (Its out of the way).
And then, of course, how do you do a full format? I saw it somewhere and I know I could find it again, but any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Try installing them in the file manager, that helps sometimes.
This may be a stupid question... I currently send the files to my phone via bluetooth. It receives them as a message. I open the message and it installs (or most do).
Now the stupid part...how do I install via file manager?
I think I found out what is going on. The programs are not localized for US. I was having the same problem with a shopping list program from Mobipaq.com. The developer was great to work with and we figured out that his program was not localised for english. He made a few changes and it installed and works great!
So if you are having a problem an app not installing, contact the developer and let them know you need it localized for english (or US phones).
