This one is wierd...
When trying to locak the phone with a security code I get some wierd issues...
1. If I press the power button and choose "lock" I am prompted for a security code, which is fine. I put in the default "1234" and it comes right back and asks for it again...
If I put in a random one, it comes back "code error", which is what I would expect.
2. under settings->security->phone/sim->lock code
If I put in the default "1234" it again just comes back and asks for the same code over and over....
Any ideas what is going on there??
erm...... the default lock code is 12345 :-?
erm...... the default lock code is 12345 :-?
*cough* yes...
Right this one is even wierder then:
When I go to Change the "Lock Code" option...
I put in 12345, which then prompts me for a new lock code. I put in 54321 it asks for a verify so I put in 54321 and it says "code error"
Any clues?
Also when I try and lock it with 12345 it comes back with "code error", too...
hmmm..... Not sure.
The only thing that I can think of is that on my 7650 the keys repeat quite easily so when I press a button once, sometimes it puts 2 characters in.
I take it that if you lock the phone that 12345 works to unlock it, or have you (understandably) not tried it yet?
why would you want to chnage the lock code, whos gonna crack
12345
what criminal genious could penetrate that fortress of security?? :P

This is the even wierder thing... 12345 doesn't even lock the phone....! It comes back with "code error"!
I am mightly confised....
Sounds to me like you should call your sevice provider about that one.
3 wrong PIN entries will give you nothing but 10 PUK requests. I had a similar problem and I suspect that you have used up your 13 (total) requests. When I did it gave me the "code error" as well. I had to buy a new sim card and enter the default sim PIN code to release the problem. Bare in mind the the PIN code is sim dependant not phone dependant. So the default of 12345 may not work for all sims. Mine for example was different here on Vodafone in New Zealand.
No, you see the problem is that it is nothing to do with the sim at all...
This is the Symbian lock code, not the PIN1 or PIN2 that I am having problems with....
Which is why the default 12345 is common to all the 7650s and is documented in the manuals.
I am starting to think that someone at the factory "tested" my phone as it was one of the very, very first ones...
1) shot the phone

plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz help me
Sounds like the lock code has been changed to something else than either the default of 12345 or the 54321 you tried.
If that's the case, then your best help is at the nearest Nokia authorized service/repair center.
