16 replies · 4,159 views · Started 25 August 2004

hi pple,

I want to view excel files on my ngage. I know there is a s/w quicksheet.
But cannot find a trial version to test out.

Did anyone tested it working?

Can send me the trial version?

Thanks for any help,

thanks for the fast reply...
But I had d/l this before.

When installing, it says memory not enough.
Understand it requires 3meg of space...
That is why I am looking for quicksheet, not quickoffice.

anyone?

There is a work around, install it on a 6600's mmc and then transfer the MMC to your n-gage.

But for that you do need another phone.

humm...
so i put mu mmc on my fren's 6600, then install to mmc.
Replace mmc back to phone?

Then will my fren's 6600 have the record of this installation?
better not.

Anyone... please send me the quicksheet...

At which point does the install fail? You could try contacting them for help too.

Already contacted them. The response is that it currently does not work with the n-gage as there is not enough memory. If there is enough demand then Quicksheet may be slipt from Quickoffice and sold as a separate module.

Well, like i said before it does work fine on the N-gage, iGO need to just sort out the install file as the only way of installing it is via a 6600 so far.

If your worried about your mates phone having Quick Office on the install log, then just install it again on the 6600's own mmc and then remove it...

If you ask me, as you have a mate with a 6600, I wouldnt turn down the chance to use quickoffice on your N-Gage just because of the install log. 😃

ok, tried.
My mate installed into his 6600.
I copied the folders from his MMC's app/ folders to my MMC's app folder.

After restarting, my icons appeared. But when launching, it says demo expired!

Mod Edit: No warez requests please

The problem is you need to have 3MB of phone memory free, not RAM,not MMC memory. If you do have 3MB of phone memory free it will install just fine.

So a freshly formatted N-gage, should have no trouble then...sweet

I have 3.15MB of phone memory (3228KB) and it still complains. Do I need more memory or is the installer just fckd up?

use "unmakesis", this program will extract all the files to your pc, after this you can copy the entire Directories (system, docs, etc...) to your mmc.
The program will work and show up in the Menu application, to remove the program you'll have to delete it file by file ! (uninstall won't work)

I was just wondering on your suggestion, is it legal to brake down companies installation files and extract the required bits you need?

As if an installation sis, required a registration code to be entered while installing like Microsoft Apps and the like, this would be working around this and be piracy.

However as far as I know most Symbian Apps codes run from the imei of the phone and require registering only after it is completely installed and not during the install process, and am I right in saying that because your not actually removing the need to register, your not braking any laws?

That's what I think; you're not doing anything wrong, except you won't see the disclaimer texts which they've put in the sis files.

You'll still need to register if you want to use the program, your just not using the original install method.
(you can also install just parts of the software this way, without breaking the register security)
