If you are in the Philippines or some other country where IP regulation is lax, I'd say go down to your friendly neighborhood mobile phone center.

I did just that, though it took me a while to find a shop with the cables and capability to unlock the 7610. I was told that the lock is in the software, and required special programs to crack. Moreover, there are booby traps - make a mistake and you can damage the phone.
