Try removing the MMC. If there were corrupt files in the sis installer then they could be interfering with the boot process.

Nope, tried removing the MMC, the startup warning still came. How do i start my phone in safe mode!!! because when i press the pencil key when i presss the switch on button, and still gives this error! what should i do???? I really need help!

Based on what you have said - an error popped-up that say's "phone start up failed" after you have switched on your phone, this error usually occurs when you have installed an unwanted/corrupted file (received or downloaded) to your phone. the file interferes with other phone application therefor rendering the phone useless. please try these following instructions

remove your mmc and restart your phone by pressing the power button....
this way we can identify which of the memmory (phone, mmc) has the problem.
if your phone successfully boots without the mmc therefor the mmc is at fault.
if this is the case reformating of the mmc is required, most nokia centers provide this kind of service..
if the phone doesnt boots, while mmc is not inserted then most likely the phone has a problem or infected by the corrupted file that you have installed. in this case you should bring your handset to nokia center ang have it SW Upgraded, this way the files that you have installed will be erased.
note: during sw upgrade some/all of your file may be deleted. eg. contacts tones messages etc...

hope this can enlighthen you

well, since i was in a bit of a hurry to get the phone problem over with, i entered *#7370# (hard reset) and it restarted. And well, now it works, but i lost everything - contacts, messages :frown: Well for a smartphone like this, i would be expected to give up the data anyway! Anyway thanks AirWalker and Hypo for your suggestions.... even though i didnt have time to implement them! By the way - the phone was at fault Hypo - with the MMC removed the phone didnt start up properly too!
