connecting to gprs network through usb?

2 replies · 3,128 views · Started 26 August 2004

I use linux and there is an app called gprsconnect. I can use this to send special AT commands and other stuff that is needed to connect to the gprs network form my computer.

I fixed my ngage to the computer and sent a query like I would do for a normal modem. The query was successull.

So now I'm wondering if it's possible for me to use my ngage to connect to the gprs network via the USB cable and then maybe use gprsconnect to send AT commands.

I want to know if it's possible to connect to the gprs network via the USB cable? :con?

I really hope that this is possible!

Thanks in advance,
rug

Sorry, that's not possible, you'll have to use Bluetooth.

Thanks for the quick reply.

So if I buy a bluetooth dongle will I be able to dial into any ISP instead of connecting to the gprs network? (ie will I be able to use my ngage like a normal modem?)

Thanks again,
rug
