Exchanging Data between 9210 & 7650

5 replies · 2,421 views · Started 30 September 2002

I am thinking of getting 7650 as my 2nd handphone but have the following questions I hope you folks can help clarify:

1. Does 7650 also uses Symbian s/w?
2. If so, can my 9210 contacts (~1,400 records) & calender data be migrated to 7650?
3. Can I synchronise the contacts and calender data using infrared? (As I do not want to use a PC to do this)

All comments/help/advice welcome. Thks

1. yes
2. contact, no problem, but you can only do it one by one  ; calendar should be similar
3. afaik, there is no synch prog. such as EpocSynch for ER5, so one by one for contact and calendar...

Ghee... that's a shame.

1. 😊
2. One by one? That's quite a pain isn't it?
3. 😮 Transferring file is not much use. Since sometimes I create contacts in the 9210, sometimes in the 7650. So synhronisation will be more effective and appropriate than transferring the contacts.cdb file.

May be I will hold on until someone comes up with some nice apps (.sis) that allows synhronisation to take place between 9210 & 7650.

Add that to the Wish Apps List.

One think came to my mind, that might save you from transferring contacts and calendar items one by one. If you have your contacts not in the "normal" contact database, but in your own (maybe on your MMC). You probably could transfer this file to your 7650. (Does the 7650 allow more than one / own contact databases?) And the same with calendar. Transfer your calendar file to your 7650 and merge it with the calendar there. Let me know if this works!

forget the 7650 man.. it's bulky ( comparing it with the 6650, not the 9210 😉)
about the contacts.. i've faced the same problem. and i copied them one by one  ( and i have 150 contacts, not 1400 😉)
did u know now what's the SE T39, T68i, and P800 good for? u can send all contacts via irda or Bluetooth.

i don't know if this works as i don't have a 7650...

if you can sync your 9210 to you PC desktop on MS-Outlook...

and you can use your MS-Outlook data to sync to your 7650 via IR or bluetooth.

😉
