Uses of NGage supplementary wires

On the NGage, you get a set of 3 wires with it.

Any one know what the long inerconnect is for?

1. is the headphones.
2. short interconnect wire that allows you to collect normal headphones to the NGage.(I think)
3 a long interconnect, but I don't know what it is for. It has a male plug on one end to fit in one of the NGage ports and a male std headphones plug on the other end.

it's an analog cable to record output from a CD player, cassette player or radio etc with the n-gages line in.

Which port does it plug into (black or grey)

And can I listen to the CD input, via my headphones, at the same time.

Basically I want to be able to use my NGage headphones on my CD player, so I don't have to carry round 2 pairs of headphones around.
