Before I jump into learning Symbian I want to know if what I want to do is possible. I bought a phone in Israel, a Nokia 3100. It types in Hebrew only when the phone is set in Hebrew. In English it cannot type Hebrew characters. I want to edit the OS so I can type Hebrew characters in English mode. I also want to be able to lock the phone and have it ask for an unlock code instead of just unlocking.

The Symbian/Series 60 automatic keypad locking works like you want (requires you to type a code before it unlocks). If you want the keypad to lock without a code, you must install a separate program (like JJLKeyLock or others).
