I get the above message when i try to connect via PC Suite. The bluetooth connection turns up and the pairing is done just fine but the PC suite doesnt recognise the device and gives some weird symbols instead of the device name.
This has caused a huge problem and even resetting my n-gage hasnt affected it. Moreover on my friend's computer my device shows up just fine implying a software issue rather than a hardware one.
I reinstalled the pc suite software after completely uninstalling it, yet the problem persists.
Please someone help...this is highly exasperating!!
I have the same problem. It just started. I called Nokia and they were shotgun troubleshooting. Now I'm looking myself. The Nokia guy said that there is a non supported way to connect the PC Suite to the USB but for legal reasons could not give instructions.

Fernando

i downloaded the latest nokia suite for my phone from nokias website (mine is the 3650).
Reinstalling it didn't fix the problem.
Then I upgraded Win XP to SP 2 and that fixed the problem. Best I can tell, something is hosing up the IR port. In either case, upgrading my Windows solved it for me.
good luck
