Old sim card into 7610

Hi Guys,
I picked up my new 7610 today and put the Sim card from my old Nokia 8310 into this one. I then went to update my contact list into the phones memory and only half of the numbers appeared. I noticed that the only ones the 7610 copied were the ones that were in Upper Case.... Any ideas how I can transfer all numbers over???

If you open Contacts -> Options -> SIM Directory, are all the SIM contacts visible there?

Also, if your SIM is very (a relative thing, of course) old, your operator should be able to give you a new one (and at least around here they will also copy all info from the old SIM to the new one).

As Mueller, I have a sim card that is nearly 7 years old!But I transferred either name in upper and lower case to the phone memory. Just a question.....If I would record contacts only on my sim card, How could I do in order to say the phone to read only the sim memory? Let me explain.....this is my present situation: I've no contacts recorded on my phone.....they're stored only on the sim card.....when I receive/send a call (this number is stored on the sim card), the phone display only the incoming/outgoing number, without associate it to the relative name stored in the contact list.....Why? In order to do that, I had to duplicate all the sim contacts on my phone.....What the hell of crap is this?

That's normal behaviour on these phones (contacts and messages that are on the SIM can be read/copied, but when receiving calls or messages, only contacts in phone memory are used for lookup).

The Contacts app can hold multiple fields (names, addresses, email addresses, notes, different numbers, etc.), whereas on the SIM you can have only simple name:number assosciations (and many more contacts than you can fit on any SIM).
