My new 7610

Hi guys,

after a few days of my 7610 their are a few things that annoy me. Some people here may know ways around this:

1. No auto keyguard (yes I got a 3rd party app for this)
2. My images taken with the camera cant be opened when sent via bluetooth to some other phones - the other phones say the image is too big. Need a resize app!!
3. Cant send SMS across the room via bluetooth, like in booring meetings etc.
4.The default scren saver suxs - dont know how to change this yet.

Anyone who knows how to fix this - would love to hear from ya.

BTW: I have found that in WinXP I cant just connect the phone to the USB cable, I need to log off, connect then logon.

If I connect while logged on the computer beeps to indicate a new connected device, but when I try to view the phone in window explorer its not visible or try any of the transer app from PC suite they fail to start.

Have I installed the driver wrong?

There is, but the problem with it for most people is that it requires a code to unlock. I.e., it just doesn't lock the keypad like apps such as JJLKeyLock do.

1, Yeah this is the annoying thing about symbian phones sometimes, they leave out standard applications so you have to go out and buy them. Money grabbing b**tards!!
2, Not really tried sending many images through BT yet, mostly bluejacking people on the train. Have tried to another 7610 and 6600 that works fine.
3, You can set up a new contact and send that by bluetooth, not as many characters as SMS but just enough for a chat.
4, I'd like to know that as well, it only gives me the 3 options, text, date and crappy orange screensaver.

I use the 'Notes' application. Write notes, send em via bluetooth. Most phones we have in the office can read em. Nice.

Yeah I thought of that and tried it to my friends Sony/Erricson phone - they received it but got an application error!

I sent a 4Mb mp3 to someone via bluetooth - boy that took ages! Guess it wasnt made for such big files.

Al, they aren't "problems" with them... There IS an auto-key guard, the image file sizes can be changed in settings, the length of bluetooth extension isn't the phone's fault (bluetooth has a short range) and the screensaver CAN be changed.

The only true problem with the phone, is the pesky image delay, which means you don't actually take photos when you press the button - there is about a 1 second delay, causing the picture to be off.

Hi,

I use Auto Key lock, you can choose how many seconds you want before the phones gets locked & it unlocks with the usual * key.

For the screen saver, who cares? The screen gets dark & you can't see anything anyway.

Cheers 😊

can i know with mobiluck by scanning that what phone the other person is using? because when i scan normally i see the persons bluetooth name.. what if i need to know what phone they r using?
