Hi there!
i bought recently an n-gage qd and i have this problem:
- when i import an mp3 file with Nokia PC Suite i t converts it and puts it on the phone directory, but on file details (in PC suite) it says Symbian Unknown...
And the file is not actually inthe phone but the space ius ocuppied...
help me??
Mmmmzz :s
I would start by downloading a fileexplorer application like Seleq or fExplorer, find the file on your phone and delete it.
Then you need to determine what you want to do with the song, you want it as ringtone? Convert it to WAV using a third party converter and then transfer it to sounds\digital (make sure it's not above 1-2mb if you put it on your phone's memory instead of the MMC card).
If you just want to play it, you can use an thirdparty mp3 player (sound still goes in sounds/digital).
Chances are, installing a third party mp3 player will let you play the file you have on it for the moment, it will recognise the file and you shouldn't get the unknown file format anymore...
but where do i get does third party players? i have real one player installed... the nokia PC SUITE makes the conversion of the mp3 and i send to sounds\digital and it is not there!! its anoying!!
be more simple in language please...

Ahum how could I forget that one *g*
do u recomend fexplorer...?
links?
i convert the files to .aac and send it with Nokia PC Suite? The problem is that on Nokia PC Suite after sending the file it says in the description "Symbian Unknown"
Any program better than PC Suite??
thx
I don't know what you're doing with PC suite but if you send it to your mmc sounds directory and it complains afterwards ignore it.
Install a player that can handle the file on your phone and it should work.
And no, PC Suite is your only choice.
its quite simple, open the pc suite, then click on the control panel.
in the ctrl panel u'll see file convertor. Click on it, and remove the tick mark from mp3. Now ur pc suite will not convert mp3 while transfering. To play mp3 install some software like mp3go, ultramp3 etc...
