Hi,
I just got a Nokia 7610 as a birthday gift today and I tried to take a picture and it keeps giving me system error messages;
I tried to format the card, reset to factory default, tried to change the setting to save the pic on the phone mem instead of the mmc but it still keeps giving me the same error.
I have been using a SE T630 from quite a while and never faced a single problem and have many nokia�s in the past without any problems but I cant understand why is it giving me these errors?? 😡

PS: The vid recorder works perfectly thou.

try to format your memory and mmc or just download the upgrage your mobile by downloading a new version 😉 from nokia site

Hi thanks for your reply, I went to this site http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,,58681,00.html and installed the applications but still it is behaving the same way, is there any other update avalible that will cure this problem for, the cam just doesnt let me save any still pictures but videos are no problem. :con?

Here's another update, I just formated my phone by removing the sim and pressing the * call and no3 button but still I'm getting the same SYSTEM ERROR.
This is getting very annoying

Never heard of anyone having this ere problem with a 7610, so I would assume you have a duff one - but what exactly does the error say?
Sounds bad & not something you (or anyone here) can fix. I 'm afraid you probably must take it back to the store for warranty repairs/exchange or take it to your nearest authorized Nokia service center.
Just got the same problem, bought 7610 like 6 days ago, and now it's giving me the "system error" whenever i am trying to start the camera. I want to ask, if u remeber what is that uve done whe it started? Cuz i just renamed the file immidiatly after taking a picture, i think that's when it kinda screws up......... If anyone knows the cure please help.....

Check it mate, if its not the same then get a software upgrade done. go to www.nokia.com and find your local nokia repair centre.
I'm having the same exact issue and I've also reformatted the MMC and reset the phone using the *#7370# code as others have suggested...nothing works so far.
My software version is:

I did find one trick though...I've been able to get the still camera working by switching the image quality setting down to 'Basic'. The camera will saves images but the pic isn't the greatest and it is a total waste of the megapixel functionality of the camera!
Please someone figure this one out for us!! :frown:

While I was at a NSC getting my firmware upgraded, I remember one more person with a 7610 came in with the same error. The camera worked fine in low res. mode but refused to save in normal/high res. mode.
I think you have no option but to send it to NSC for repair / service.
