I've hooked my PC up to the P800 and got it to connect to the internet. But I can't use Remote Desktop Connection to hook up to terminal services on remote machines, even tho in some cases the terminal services connect web page comes up.
I'm using T-mobile, and I figure they're just blocking port 3389, but I'd like to be sure. Also, would using a dial up or isdn connection work?
Thanks much!
Doug
The web-based Terminal Services (RDP) client from Microsoft is actually an ActiveX control for Windows.
It will only work with IE on Windows.
In other words, you can't use it with your phone's browser, because it doesn't support Microsoft ActiveX controls (and especially not ActiveX controls that are Windows binaries/executable code).
I don't think Microsoft will ever create a Terminal Service Client for Symbian (UIQ or any other variant).
Your best bet is to find a VNC or PuTTY client for the P800/UIQ (and install a VNC or SSH server on your remote hosts).
Alternatively, check out if Citrix has a suitable product.

Yea, but I was using it as a modem for my notebook, so the software is actually running on my notebook.
I got RDP to work thru dialup to my ISP, but the fastest I could get it to run is 9600. Sprint offers a 106,000 bps connection, which surprises me because I've always heard that GSM is faster than the protocol Sprint uses.
but there are open source RDP clients for things like linux
