So I've just splashed out on a brand new 512Mb Rs-MMC, but how to I copy everything over to the new card.
With my 3650 the PC Suite detected a new card a loaded the backed up card onto the new one.
But with the 7610, PC Suite back up, but when I go to restore it comes up with an empty white box labeled 'Items' and the next button is greyed out.
I don't want to splash out on a memory card reader,
1) probably because I'll never use it again because the 7610 has a usb connection, and
2) because I'm impatient, and I'll probable have to order one on the Net which means with the weekend I won't get it until tuesday.
I wouldn't be so bothered but I don't want to loose Opera which came with my phone.
Many thanks,
Mr Jon
I tried to put the card into a 3650 with an adapter, and then run a backup with PC Suite for 3650, but it fails.
I then tried Epocware's PC File Manager with the 3650, and copied each folder on the mmc, and then copied.it to the new card, which transferred all files, but when the card is put back into the 7610, non of the programs on the card appear in the menu,
Is a memory card reader the only way, or is it not possible at all?
Be aware the PcFilemanger, you can not copy 'folders' you have to open the folder and copy each file.
It will say it's copied if you drag an entire folder but when you look at the files within you will see they are zero file size...
But essentially it should work as thats how I transfered my data from 3650 to 7610
Good luck
Will
Ah ha, that would probably be why the copy did not work.
I did find out however, that simply reinstalling Opera from the Opera website will work , as the program will simply lift the license off of the phone memory. It is still very annoying however to have to find all licences for software when it is reinstalled onto the new memory card!
