Yesterday I upgaded my 6600 to FW 5.27.0.Everything is fine, but I noticed that if you dial number beginnig with * (for example *88 is customer support on my mobile operator),when you open the extended log (where all commubications:data, voice, sms are shown) instead of showing *88,it shows blank. Can somebody with 5.27.0 try this and tell me if the same happens.10x

I'm not sure what you mean by the extended log, but if I choose from the main menu Log->Recent Calls->Dialled nos., there seems to no problem showing *88. In my network that is not a valid number though.
You haven't understood me well.I don't mean recent dialed numbers, but the extended log, where all communications are shown : sms, data, voice,GPRS.You can access the extended log when you go to "Log" and then move the joystick rightwards.
You cant beat a bit of v 3.42.1
There must be nearly 10 times more posts about newer firmware problems in this forum.
And they keep on coming, if thats your customer support number and it doesnt show in the log, that makes it even more ironic!
Hope you sort it 😊
Elton, you are 1/2 right.3.42.1 has its advantages - sending everything via bt/irda,showing numers beginning with * in the log....and that's all😊Let me remind you how buggy the voice commands are,the mms presentations, the vibra problem in silent mode...😊

Ok, got it now. It seems that the same happens with my phone as well. So far I've been extremely satisfied with 5.27.0 and this is the first minor bug (doesn't affect me at all) I've come across after using it for a week.
Has any body tested the new firmware with Bluetooth Headsets ? Does it solve the issue of reduced battery life when bluetooth is on as the older firm ware used to keep the bluetooth connection open always.

And can anyone check if the HANDset rings when a Bluetooth HEADset is connected. At the moment only the headset rings :frown: .
Thanks,
J.

I can confirm that both of them ring with the new firmware (at least with Nokia HS-3w).

How about battery life with BT switched on ? Is it improved over the previous firmware ?

I can confirm that both ring with the new firmware (at least with Nokia HS-3W). I can't really comment on the battery life with bluetooth, since I didn't use it with the previous firmware and I haven't used the headset that much anyway.

Can you explain what you mean by the bt/irda comment? I am about to upgrade from 3.42.1, and don't want to lose functionality.

Well, it is hard to say, since I got the headset after upgrading the firmware, so I can't say if there has been any improvement. I guess according to the changelog there should be improvements on the power consumption when bluetooth accessory connected, but unfortenately I can't say if the improvement is of any real significance.
Can you Turn off handset ringing when using a bluetooth headset. As I for one see prettymuch no advantage to having my handset annoy people.

Hmm, at least I couldn't right away figure out how to do this. I can't right now test (I don't have another phone) if for example the headset rings in the silent mode. My guess is though, that the situation is the same but opposite compared to the previous firmware (i.e. now the handset is hard coded to ring). Maybe somebody could prove me wrong?

Thank you for your information... How much do your battery last and what is your usage pattern, especially with BT headsets ?
