They can/could (perhaps even will), but what, exactly, would perfect mean to you?
Everybody's "perfect" is more or less different. 😉

Why shouldn't N-Gage QD have built-in MP3 player, radio, USB port and stereo output? Then why the original N-Gage doesn't have hot-swap MMC card, traditional way of talking and smaller size like QD?? If Nokia can include all these features into one device, then I'd call it 'perfect' (at this moment in the market).
I was planning to buy N-Gage QD but it lacks of built-in MP3 player, radio and stereo output.. and I don't like the original N-Gage because of its size and side-talking. Do you all get my point?
All they needed to do was add god damn rewind and fast forward to the music player. Screw the games.

That query applies to all of the nokia phones... Why dont they make infrared / BT a standard feature? Why not make the phone memory big? Why not make it fixed for 3310s to have an internal memory? etc etc etc... Cause they dont want to.... There will never be a full featured nokia phone and even if there will be one, new innovations and technology will be on the uprise and integrated on these small gadgets that will make us think the older ones are obsolete or something. And like mentioned perfect is different to any other persons perspective. I picture perfect as complete gadget.
With regards to your query about the ngage, probably, they took out the mp3 and radio first to make it smaller, second so that the ngage classic would still be able to still sell. Imagine if they made it the same but upgraded, then no one would buy the classic but would settle for the newer and better ngage. Right?
I suspect those thigns were taken out for cost (the MP3 and Radio was a hradware chip on the original N-Gage). The talking was an experiemtn, also used by the early 7700 protos
I thouht the N-gage QD would be much better than the N-gage.
but why can't thay make it like the 6600( you know " 45000 screen color , supportes themes, mp3 and radio and all the stuff that the 6600 can do).
well exept the camera of sure then it will not be N-gage or a gamedeck.
it just let me down :frown:
I think an N-Gage with a built in camera would be a killer phone. I have a 7610 and a n-gage, I love the n-gage phone but it really bugs me not having a camera after carrying around a 3650 for a year.
A camera phone is really good for capturing random snaps. And I think a mp3 player is a good idea.
And aswell as hot swap, I want two mmc slots, one for a large mmc to store music and video and one for swapping games.

I dont think so ,you know camera is 10/30/100,millions de pixels effectifs,so the photo is not clear ,thus i think if n-gage has camera is so good and killer phone ,if no camera is very good phone too, and yon can buy nokia camera with it ,and download sofeware to n-gage, I think it can take photo!
The QD is intended as a consumer gaming platform + phone in one. To be successful at the former, it needs to be available at a price not much more than a Gameboy Advance. The reason we got a 12-bit screen instead of a 16-bit one: cost. No MP3/radio chip or USB? Too expensive. No camera? $$$.
I already doubt that Nokia is making any money on the N-Gage and QD handhelds, and probably not much on the games. It is not possible for them to include all of the features that one lusts after in a handheld for a market that they may or may not be successful in at a price that the average gaming consumer would consider affordable.
For those of you buying your toys with mommy and daddy's money, good for you. The rest of us actually have to earn it ourselves and can't afford to buy a new handset every 3 months once something "better" becomes available. We also don't want to drop $600 on a phone that might not have that many games coming out for it.
I think it's a strategy of the big companies like nokia. If they made a perfect phone, everyone will want that phone. they can sell lots of that perfect one but the loss will be high in others. by making different phones they tr to reach everyone with different kind of interests. they put camera on one, and a mp3 player on one and gaming feathure on one. and they say choose one. u can choose the camera, or the mp3 player. or 2 of these feathuresl and buy 2 different phone; like MrJon 😊 .
the reason i think they didn't put a camera on NGage it costs money like beskippy said. they tried to reach the young people with NGage and if the phone is too expensive, they would fail the market war with sony and nintendo. NGage is simply a gaming deck like GBA and PSP. but it has a extra feathure, it is also phone. and they tried to make it a entertainment deck with minimum cost. and they ended with NGage. a mp3 player, a game deck, a radio, a phone, a movie player, a storage device etc. etc. these features are all targeting the young people. people won't carry mp3 players or discmans, they can carry NGage, cause everybody has a cellphone. they won't carry usb stick memory devices, they will carry NGage, they won't carry an extra game deck they will carry NGage. The idea is great but, they failed because of some bad features like sidetalking, mmc cards instead of sd or a new standard, non-hotswappable card...
and the size is big for a phone. and people don't think like NGage is a hybrid device and that the size is normal for all these features. they think that "this is a huge phone, i will buy a smaller one...".
maybe 3rd generation of NGage could be better that NGage Classic and QD but, it won't be perfect.

😃 lol
You know what's weird? When one of the first N-Gage QD screenshots leaked, on the right button thing the one that says "Game" normally... it had "Camera" Hmm.. I'd like a camera 😞
I have a pretty fantastic digital camera, but as posted above, a cell phone is always on you and great to capture photos on the spot.

i think..the main reason why ngage QD dosnt have bulit in mp3 and others...is because this things make battery run out more quikcly...so in ngage qd...the power is being added and the funky hardaware is remove to make qd is more or similar to prefect game deck.. 😃
my best friend use ngage original but...the nokia mp3 player is sooo lack...so..he decide to buy ultra mp3...to play mp3.. and he problem solve..
..at my country...all ngage original are more likely been infected by some bugs that can infect other phone via bluetooth....but the news report that this bug didnt infect qd and not dangerous at all....
so..its up to you to choose which ngage... and if you still argue about this...maybe you have to wait untill ngage qd-i is develop.... 😃 just kidding....!

Ultra MP3 can only play up to 16KHz MONO while the built in player can play up to 44KHz stereo so the problem is not solved.

Oh really?I suspect you are talking about Cabir - the proof of concept trojan. It can infect any Series 60 device including the N-Gage QD,if the owner is mentally challenged that is 😉
