Quality of Recorded Video

How are people finding the quality on the build in camcoder on the 7610. It produces pretty blocky video on my handset.

Has anyone used another program like Phillips Camcoder Pro?

I tried the demo on my handset, and it is ok except the phone crashes if I try to play a video from the gallery when it opens in Phillips program. Is there any way to associate videos with Real Player again?

Has anyone tried any other programs to record video?

Yeah, mine isnt great either. I think its because of the compression codec (3gp) clearly the 7610 is very capable of high quality video. Also what is your picture quality like. Im having real problems with it. In VERY bright light is great, but in normal/dim light its very very grainny, even with night mode activated. What have you found? Regards.

I've recorded videos with full version of phillips camcoder and in PRO mode it has better quality than original 7610 camcorder.

Is there anyway of editing the 7610 codec for higher codec rate? like realplayer was to make it play full screen?

realplayer full-screen? :con? really?

Videos look good on my phone and horrible when played on my computer/tv. The reolution is so low its just not worth using the cam corder feature. I am having enough problems just taking decent pictures with the camera.

If u use Phillp Camcoder then u can get far better Video then the in Bulit Camera.
When i capture with in bulit camera i see small boxes when i play on P.C. But not in the Case Of Camcoder.

thanx

where can i get it and how do i install it?

The quality of Camcoder with Pro Setting and 15fps is just amazing. Id never though that the 7610 would be capable of such clear video recording. When you watch your videos on PC you can even watch them at 200% size and they still look clear.

Much better quality than built-in video app.

Well im using it now and certainly not finding the quality as amazing as described by some people. Ive got version 1.0.1. Could anyone please tell me the correct settings please? Am i missing something? The video is blurr, not blocky but i would prefer to use the built in camera rite now! Also, any photo taking software that takes photos better than the builtin one?

You must choose "Pro" setting, MPEG 4 with 15fps and QCIF resolution (and of course unlimited file size). The picture looks a little bit "soft" (I wouldnt call it blurred) but just watch them at 200% size on your PC and compare it to a video recorded by the built-in app or a P900 for example and youll see that there are hardly any blocks or pixels in the video and that is amazing for a device like the 7610.

Apart from Pocket PCs and digital cameras I havent seen better video picture on a mobile device than with this app.

When i choose QCIF the frame rate doesnt increase to 15, it stays at 7.5. Only in 128x96 does the fps go upto 15. Why cant it capture the video just like when it shows in the viewfinder before we start recording? Now my default player is also camcorer pro n it sux! Yes its soft! How can it l0ok good on the pc when its shit on the phone? A really good camcorder app is what needs to be developed for the 7610! Regardless of any size the file might take!

by the way, what is an SMS email address? its in "my prefs" when u access the site via ur phone.. i dont get what that is.. and also 'POST ORDER DESC'
and whats "SEND DTMF" its in options during a voice call :s
any help will be appreciated 😊

Alright I just figured out that frame rate actually decreases to 7.5 (or 10 without audio) when you choose QCIF but nonetheless whether u go at 7.5 fps and QCIF or 15 fps with 128x96 the quality is extremely good compared to built-in camcorder or any other 3rd party video recording application.

The kind of quality you might expect is simply not possible on a 150 MHz mobile phone. Were talking about real time video encoding here. Just look how long it takes your PC to encode a video in MP4 and imagine how much more power it has compared to your 7610.

A usual Pocket PC has about 450 MhZ which is three times as much as a 7610 and thats why it can take better video (in 320x240).

File size is not the problem. Processing power is one.
