Hi,
I just recevied a 7610 and so far it is a great phone. I had a WIndows Smartphone and the one thing I loved about the phone was, when I would start to dial a phone number from the start screen it would bring up my contacts and start to go through and list the contacts that had the digits I had dialed so far.
The more numbers you dialed, the more contacts were eliminated until you had the contact you wanted to dial (you could also scroll down to any contact and hit the send key during the process). Usuakky after 2-3 keys I had enough people eliminated that it made dialing quick.
If the contact was not listed, you would just dial the entire number and hit send like usual.
I know I could use voice dial (which I do use) but is there a program that will do the same? I know I can seach by name but I have to go into contacts and seach by letter.
Also, is there a way to have the contcats phone number listed under the contacts name? Sometimes I will look up the contact on the cell phone and dial it on the home phone. It would be great if I did not have to go to another screen. I have downloaded a progrma called lookup and it works great but I still have to go to another screen to use it.
Thanks,
Mark
This sounds like what your after
"Smart Dialer aims to speed up the retrieval and dialing of your contacts in your phone. It implements an auto-complete like fuction. As you begin to dial the software pops up and offers suggestions for what number you might be trying to dial. It works vy looking at either the number you are dialing, or the first or last name (all at the same time). Well worth a look."
It's on the front page.

Smart Dialer 1.1 does this for Series 60 phones. You can search by number, first name, or last name and then dial by hitting the dial number or open the contact with the OK button. Here is the link, http://www.moovsoftware.com/dialer_home.htm .
