Hey Zainman,

I got my gorgeous new 7610 a couple of days ago and depsite being sent a settings sms from O2, am still having serious issues with connecting to GPRS. My MMSs dont send either!

I have made it connect a few times but it takes a while. hmm i thought it would be plain sailing when i got a contract with the nicest phone out. 😞

i did set them manually but no use! i m posting the link to u of their site.. tell me how u would set the settings! http://ufone.com/gprsconfiginfo.htm :@ i m so pissd off man! i thought it would work cuz its the same as 6600! someone please help! the settings wizard also does not have Pakistan in it! there must be a way!

Go to nokia.com then support for 7610 and download the auto configuration wizard.
Put it on your phone and run it - it will configure it for you.

Best

Will

Hey will, man the settings wizard that u told me to put on the phone already is there and i cant use it because it does not have PAKISTAN in its list of countries.. i read this somewhere else that GPRS wasn't working the person called the operator and salesperson said that Nokia 7610 is too new. that is exactly what is happening with me but then this person got GPRS working. that m not getting how! i m really desperate! HELP!

PLEASE HELP! what can i do? my operator is still saying that the phone is not compatible, i have tried using 6600's settings but they dont work! i have googled.. found nothing.. very confused n miserable! all the money i spent on buying this cell will be wasted if i dont use it to the full! 😞

i work for o2 as a customer service advisor, if you want to get mms and gprs to work on ur phone just having the settings installed on the phone alone is pointless as u need the apn or access points activated on ur simcard/account in order for it to work. you do this by ringing you service provider.

o2 online contract customers must ring 5151 from there handset
o2 online pay as you go customers must ring 4445 from there handsets

normal highstreet o2 customers must ring the number that is on there phone bill
as there are many billing systems within o2, the correct number for ur o2 contract will be on your phone bill.
hope this helps.

I am in Pakistan not in UK.. and yes GPRS and MMS both are activated on my account and i received a smartmessage for my MMS settings but the 'G' just blinks and does not connect! u must know why Nokia 7610 is incompatible? or maybe u need some extra settings like the IP address or proxy or whatever? thank u for replying but my problem still persists! 😞

the ip and proxy settings should have been recieved in your smart message, but u need to have recived 2 smart messages one for mms and one for gprs.
if its still aint working then get in contact with ur network operator again so they can sort the problem.

Hi, today when i turned my cell on, i can see the G now! 😃 im so happy! i think they've started supporting it or something! maybe coz i really messed it up for them, i sent them loads of complaints.. letters, calls, emails, everything! wow! this works! anyway thanx alot for ur help guys! especiall liquidfists. problem solved 😊

Go to nokia.com thats where i got the settings.

Go to the Search Field and Type in MMS Settings or GRPS settings.

Click on the Link and select the phone its easy. hope this helps

I had the same problem with the G on top when receiving MMSs' It says receiving message then blinks out. I learned that by going to settings - connection - then editing the GPRS connection to When Available and not to When Needed makes a lot of difference. Now i can receive MMS messages and not get pissed off waiting for one. 😃

yes ur correct.. thats what i always do.. keep my GPRS when available so i can always see the G, if i dont i get agitated.. :$... but why did u keep GPRS to when needed?
