My brand new Sendo X doesn not recognize my memory card(s),
have tried with 3 MMC cards and one SD card (TwinMOS and Sandisk)...
Anybody experienced the same or is my X defect/broken !?????
I hope I don't have to return it, since it takes ages probably to get
it back, or maybe I just should demand a brand new one????
(I received the phone yesterday)
:frown: 😡 :con? 😮
Hi,
When formatting cards on a PC, ensure you set the File System setting to FAT, and not NTFS or FAT32.
The phone can only understand FAT. Windows does default to FAT32 though, so make sure you alter it first. It's easy to miss this out.
Once done, the card should be OK on the PC or handset.
If you did the format on the handset first, it should be OK anyway.
I've tested MANY types of card (MMC and SD), 1GB SD cards included.
All seem to work OK. I know some brands of cards do not work AT ALL with handsets (seen in various Nokia 3650/6600 forums), but there are not many. Major brand names (SanDisk, etc) are fine.
If you have done all of this, let me know the type (SD/MMC/RS-MMC/Mini-SD),
maker (SanDisk, Kodak, PQI, etc) and size (64MB, 512MB, etc).
Regards,
plinkykev
Hi, thx for replying,
I have tried to format both with FAT and FAT32, no luck.
All the cards I have tested; TwinMOS 128MMC / 64MMC, and SanDisk 256SD,
and Nokia 32MMC work just fine on my Nokia 6600, but the Sendo X doesn't
even recognize that a card is inserted into the phone.
When starting the "Memory" application under the folder Extras,
I just get the message "No memory card inserted", so I don't even
get the chance to format it through the phone.
I am starting to fear now that it is something wrong with my X,
and that I have to go through a long process of frustration and
waiting!! 😡
I wanted to try to do the master reset, (manual page 24), and reformat the phone to check if that could solve it, but the master-reset function doesn't work!
I try to switch off the phone, insert the charger cable, turn on while holding the "5" key pressed, but it doesn't come up with a green confirm button on
the right side of the display as i says in the manual, it just ask for the pincode
of my simcard... If I remove the simcard, it just ask me to insert the simcard!! 😞
Does it sound like there is some hardware fault with my phone??
My firmware version is x1.30.16.1 (6-jul-2004). I live in Norway
and am subscribing to Telenor Mobil. Could this have anything
to do with my issue?
If the phone is faulty, do you think I should demand a new one
instead of them repairing the unit? The phone is 1 day old!! 😞
Ain't it typical!?? It had to something wrong with the exact phone I received!! :frown:
Speedman once said that you can format the phone by pressing *#7370#. For code, enter 12345. That might help!
do insert your memory card in the correct way ? the side with the golden colour connect tabs should be down when facing the back of the phone. You should be able to see the brand name of the card when you put it in.
this is important, if you don't do this, it will never work (like putting in a videotape in the wrong way)
if it still is not working, i suggest you contact the closest repair centre and have your phone exchanged for another.

finally I managed to reformat the phone, I had to pull out the power chord....
(doesnt say so in the manual though). But, did not help at all, same s**t,
"No memory card inserted" ...
Yes I insert the memory card(s) the right way...
Looks like its faulty then...
I am not accepting any repairs, I am gonna demand a brand new one since the
unit was faulty when I received it!!
BTW! Have of course also adresed Sendo directly with this issue, and they have
not answered me yet (72hours ago)...
Besides this, I must say that I am getting a little bit furios about the
audio quality (Which should be SO GREAT on this phone)...
Sparkling sounds have started to appear on wav/mp3/amr files, both in the
headset and in the phone speakers ......
And also, many S60 applications seems to run much slower on this phone,
e.g. MGS games / N-gage games etc..... The camera flash is a joke, and
the picture quality are dissapointing, dark/red..... :frown:
Thank you for your help so far 🙄
if that doesn't work then
yes your phone is 'faulty'. Order a new one at sendo repair centre.
there's no need to roll your eyes on us, we're here to at least 'try' to help you.
i'm not sendo, so i can't repair it or give you a new one.
the audio problem is being adressed at. I didn't have any problems at mp3.
the audio quality isn't supposed to be good, it is very very bad. But the new firmware will fix this. So no worries there. I only once had an mp3 cracking up on me, i turned off the phone, and restarted it and it was fine.
picture quality is very good here, and the flash is no joke. At night if you take pictures it will be a little red, but during the day it will be perfect.
i took some pictures at work and sent em to some people and all were pleasantly surprised by the high quality.
hi i just got same problem.
In my SENDO X(even up-grade firmware to newest).
My card is KINGSTONE 256 MB MMC. I only tried 8megs SD card from my other SPV and its works fine.
Phone is bright NEW from shop.
Please HELP ME
Maby i must Buy other CARD??
Thanx for replying
Wow dude, major kick!😉 Maybe you should've opened a new thread.
Anyway, give a little bit more information, tell us what you already tried. Reformatting in FAT (not FAT32/NTFS), flashing your phone, stuff like that.
sorry!
I tried everything-what is written in previously posts, nothing helps 😞
my card is 100% working
what can i do??
I tried 5 MMC / SD Card. Only one !!! will work: transced 1 GB MMC. But i need a 2 GB Card. My Siemens SX1 has no problems with the 2 GB MMC. The Sendo X seems to have big trouble with big memory cards. So I have to sell the Sendo X on ebay and keep my Siemens SX1 witch runs pretty fine.
The audio quality of the original Sendo Headset ist horrible if I compare it with the good sound auf Siemens SX1.
I tried the Sendo X - but it seems that this phone ist the last shit.

Ok, please give more details on what you exactly did. Otherwise it's a bit difficult to give possible advise.
