Communicator& connecting to the interent

Hi-

I currently am a Sprint PCS customer who has a wiress PDA (Toshiba 2032) that connects to the internet through the Sprint PCS vision system. Basically, you hit a connect button on your PDA and you're connected to the internet basically anywhere you have a Sprint PCS signal at about 56K, similar to phone line speed. You can browse the internet, get e-mail, whatever.

Now with the Communicator, either the older 9200 versions or the 9500 coming out, when one wants to connect to the internet, how is it done when not using WiFi? Does the phone itself act as a slow modem (9.6K I've read?), or will it be similar to the Sprint Vision system where you basically connect to your carrier's wireless data system and then can surf the net or get e-mail or whatever?

Thanks,
ualdriver

It uses GPRS packet data connection capabilites of your carrier's GSM network.

Without knowing what Sprint Vision is, based on your description, it is pretty much in a similar fashion with GPRS.
