goto commands

How do the 7610 goto commands work, I can't get rid of that "orange" in the bottom right of the screen.

Cheers

What "that 'orange'" are do you mean, exactly? Some applications by Nokia, or possibly also your operator/carrier, are not removable. Personally, I just move the whole goto app to a subfolder, and to be the last app there, because I never use it.

You can configure what appears on the bottom left+right of the screens, but the functions that you can assign are quite limited.

go into

Menu, Settings, Phone, Standby Mode

there you can select certain functions to appear as the standard left+right keys on the bottom of your screen.

It would be better if the navigation (joystick) keys could also be assigned (ie. the 7250 has these assigned by default - left creates new message, right goes to calendar) but this cannot be done on the 7610, unless there is some 3rd party software that can do the trick.
