Hi guys,
Some of you might be following the thread on bandwidth conservation.

As an offshoot, this poll is intended to find out whether there are enough developers willing to develop software to be showcased on this site.
I urge people with good intentions to vote yes. Right now, this is just a poll to find out how many out there are ready and willing. The modalities and even whether this actually ever takes off all rest with Rafe 😉
PS: Thats sort of a disclaimer 😉
well ive learnt and use other programming lkanguages
show me what this one is done in, and ill get to work..
I selected "Maybe" on the poll because it depends if I can get the time. I think this is a great idea. Not only would developers be able to support the site, and maybe even make money of their own, but also get contact with each other to discuss development problems with people they know are potential users of their products.
I've voted yes, but it would be J2ME as opposed to Symbian as I don't really have time to learn C++
I voted Yes, and 2 small apps are comming! Finally I have time to finish them! 😊
a russian girl once told me:I FUCK. I SUCK. I DO MSSAGG
so just give me the tools and i'll do it
-YES-
Just a clarification on the dev. tools.
For the 7650, currently the options are Java MIDP, and Symbian C++ SDK. (youll need VC6 to debug on emulator).
For the P800, I think sony is partnering with Symbian to provide the SDK.
For the 9210, there is freeware OPL and C++ SDK and Java (Ithink) and MobileVB (AppForge commercial) and I have heard there are interpreters like Forth etc..
Any more inputs are welcome..
where can i get the programs for the 7650
and what about the copy rights
Your question is a bit vague. So my answers are based on assumptions. The SDKs for the 7650 are available from http://forum.nokia.com (youll have to register first though)..
If you are worrying about the copyrights of the programs made with the SDK then, there is no problem, the copyrights belong to the person making the program.
If on the other hand you were wondering where these developed programs wwere going to be available... then your guess is as good as mine since this hasnt taken on yet.. But my guess is there will be a software section on this website. and as reg. the copyright.. it will depend.. some maybe copylefted.. some may be sold commercially ... nothing concrete yet..
Hell, if you read my first post, there is a disclaimer that this is just to get an idea if the concept is worth pursuing.. it might not even see the light of day 😉.. But then again it might 😉 (Just to be optimistic)
i'll keep my fingers crossed
Well I have started 😊 What about you ? 😃

Edit:
Rafe has setup a brand new forum, Development / Symbian C++ . I urge members to frequent this forum for keeping in touch further development news. Also there shall be tutorials on getting started etc soon, so hopefully more people will be involved in developing applications for the 7650.
