Hi,
I just a p800 and i have a few questions. Before anyone flames me, yes, i have checked the forum but i would like up to date answers please,
1, i have firmware version R1D, i don't think this is the latest version so how do i upgrade it?
2. I'm thinking of buying a BT USB dongle, will i be able to surf the web on my p800 using this? what alternatives are their for surfing wirelessly?
3. Is it possible to watch video full screen?
4. Is their a gba emulator out?
5. Is it true that the largest compatible memory card is 128mb? also are their any alternatives to the expensive sony memory cards? What is the difference between normal memory cards and memeroy duo cards?
6. Is it possible to replace the phone fascia/housing?
Many Thanks
1. Take it to any SE authorised service centre (such as a carphone warehouse)
2. Yes you will be able to surf the web over bluetooth (although I've never seen the point other than for novelty, as you have to be within a couple of meters of the PC anyway!). Only other alternative is GPRS, but that's going to cost
3. Yes, with an updated firmware
4. There is. It's something like GoBoy. Search in the AAS shop.
5. Yes it's true. SanDisk and Lemark make MS Duo cards but they are all more expensive than SD or MMC. Duo cards are, obviously, smaller but the two technologies are compatible so you can use a Duo card in a memory stick slot via an adaptor.
6. Not normally (i.e. there are no express on covers or anything like that) but there are kits out there to replace the covers with grey ones (the P800 was released in a dark grey colour for the US market (or should that be color!)). Someone also made themselves a case out of gold once! So the answer is, not without large amounts of hassle.
