USB Backup failing

2 replies · 2,424 views · Started 18 September 2004

Hi,

I wanted to make a backup using the USB cable so I could install the firmware upgarde.

But after I start the backup I get an error that ArcThread quit
And after that things go downhill and I need to restart the phone.

Luckily the backup to SD does work!

Now I only hope that restore does too!

Hi, like a PC, backups can only work when programs are closed. The phone will close most things, but if you have third party programs, they could cause an issue. Do you have any extra programs installed?

A backup immediately after powering on is the best thing, to ensure nothing is running.

The memory card backup/restore works fine, so you should be OK with that.

Already removed those.
Now if memory serves me right it actually was arcserverthread that crashed. I guess sendo X bought the backups sw from Arcserve?

But the update fixed all.

And the backup over USB is faster then to SD. I guess it is doing incremental backups.
