Just a few questions as i just purchased my 6600 and this is the first time im using a phone with the symbian OS (which is pretty cool may i add).
I hope you can find the time to help me, it shouldnt take long to help, but excuse the questions as i am a complete newbie to it all.
1. My phone came with a 32mb MMC. How do i store things onto this, for example, MP3s from my PC - whats the easiest/cheapest way to connect my phone/mmc to my pc?
2. I hear that you can play .wavs as ringtones but not .mp3s. Am i right? And how is this done with the .wavs?
3. Ive looked on the official Nokia site for certain software (i am not interested in warez or piracy, i will pay for software) and i cannot find software that allows me to record videos without the 9second limit. Although i see there is a program that lets you do this. Can you help me find it?
4. Can i play mp3s on my phone? How?
Many many thanks in advance

Welcome spitshaw,
1. By using Pc suite which comes on the disc provided with your phone (or available for download at www.nokia.com
Buy a Blutooth dongle for around 10 from e bay/20 from a shop (read the threads in this forum and make your desision about which make to get),and read the bluetooth connection threads if you get any problems once you have it.
2. Thats right,Mp3s cant be used as ringtones but wavs can,you can make a ringtone using a wav editor, send it to the phone or mmc and save in the 'Digital' folder and it will then be in the ringtone chooser in the 'Profiles' menu.
3. Search the forum for the answer to this as there are a few opinions and apps available.
4. Yes you can,by downloading an Mp3 player from the shop above, get the trial versions first and then buy the one that suits you later.

1. As elton had mentioned, PC Suite will work best for you. To connect to the PC, another option is connection thru infrared if you have a laptop with built-in infrared, it's quite easy and I've not encountered anyone who had a problem with infrared connection compared with Bluetooth. Now, if you are only copying files, you could opt for a mmc card reader since it is faster.
2. PC suite has a built-in .wav converter so it won't be a problem but it will be a big file, with only 32MB mmc you could easily fill it. You can try sound converter/decoder to minimize the file (you could try dbpoweramp, it's free, search the forum, as this has been discussed extensively). Just transfer thru pc suite (just check or uncheck the file converter option though) or copy the .wav files to your phone or mmc (e:\sounds\digital), choose this as ringtones.
Cheers
